Outlook 2007 PST recovery tool

Question

Hello,

My Outlook 2007 PST has been crashed (after switching HD's).

I have tried the PSTSCN.exe but that didn't work.

I found on the Internet a company called Nucleus Technologies which offer a pst recovery tool.

Anyone experience with the program/company and does it work?

Or are there other alternatives for recovery? If so, which?

Thx

Just to be sure, you mean Scanpst.exe, right? (in Office 2007 it's normally in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12)

Wow your PST file must be pretty broken if Scanpst can't fix it! I've never encountered that yet (I admin a few Office 2007 installations). In that situation I'd restore from a previous backup, but it doesn't sound like you have that option :/

(btw if this is in Windows Vista you may be able to grab an older copy of the .pst file via the Previous Versions tab, assuming you had it working fine at some point after switching HDs & System Restore was enabled on the HD)

Yes. That one!

I have a back-up file from earlier this year (YES, I KNOW I should back-up more often important data), but during this year I got some important mails. In the worst case scenario I can fall back to that one.

Unfortunately the 'Previous version' tab doesn't work. But it's a good idea for now and the future. Thx.

Guess I'll try Nucleus than....

It looks like Nucleus isn't able to fully fix/repair my pst-file :(

Any other (well-known) programs that can do this right (I am willing to pay a fair price for it)?

Please name 'em... :D
