Boffa Jones Veteran Posted December 9, 2008 Veteran Share Posted December 9, 2008 I have never played a WW2 game surprisingly enough. I know there are a bunch, and i just finished COD 4 so I am leaning towards world at war, but i have heard mixed reviews. What is the best WW2 game on the XBOX 360? If world at war is just not as high because it is played out, but is the best in every other way then I will buy that.. but does it lack anything that other WW2 games have? Sethos
Call of Duty 2, 3 and World at War - There's some WW2 action :p People are just whining over World at War because it uses the same engine and multiplayer system as Call of Duty 4. Definitely a worthy title (Y)
spenser.d
WaW is probably a good bet from what I hear, but I don't have firsthand experience with it. Some people rail on it irrationally because they like to slam Treyarch, but they aren't bad developers by any means. I have played CoD2 and CoD3 and they're both pretty excellent. CoD2 is Infinity Ward, the same guys that made CoD4, and CoD3 is Treyarch. I thought CoD3 felt just like 2, but it takes place in a different area. Long story short, from firsthand experience I'd recommend CoD2 or 3. -Spenser
Sethos
As an addition to the above, Call of Duty 2 is a great title despite the age. Start the game on Veteran difficulty and work your way through, simply one of the best experiences I have ever had in a Single-Player game. +Mystic MVC Posted December 9, 2008 MVC Share Posted December 9, 2008 WaW would probably satisfy your fix. It does use the same engine as COD4 so don't worry initially about the similarities (especially the near identical online play). Campaign is fun and I really enjoyed the Soviets "charge into Berlin". Ayepecks
Call of Duty 2 is the best value for the price. World at War's fairly good, too. Wasn't a big fan of Airborne but it's not bad.

rage710
CoD WaW is a very good game. As is CoD 2, and 3. Also, if you get World at War, there is the multi player element as well. Not sure how many still play the older CoD's...but World at War has a large base thats on. I just watched the trailer for MoH: Airborne, and I think I might have to pick it up. God only knows how many hours I played Allied Assault for the PC back in the day..

Exactly, but also I don't care how tired they are because I have never played a WWII game (I mean other than wolfenstein or like day of defeat...). Well then you will love WAW I would have loved it if it was not a repeat. The game looks good and plays good but I am tired of it. Wolfenstein was good I enjoyed that game.
