afusion
When you compare Gundam and Master Chief there's really no shared similarity(body armor maybe) I wouldn't even compare the side story which will be shown later in this comparison. But I thought it'd be interesting to see two war like eras of gigantic proportions compared and contrasted. The year is 0079; Earth's over swollen population gives rise to space colonies called "Sides"; but the wealthy elite are only allowed to live on earth and spacenoids (human beings who were born in space) are oppressed by the Earth Federation Government. Amuro's father Tim Ray an electronics engineer is hired to work on the Federal Forces "V Project" and prepares White Base (A Pegasus class battleship) to load all Gundam related components (Guntank, Guncannon, Gundam Hammer) in an effort to take back the occupied territories the Principality of Zeon has undergone in their campaign for true freedom of spacenoids. The Earth Federation has greater superiority in numbers but the Principality of Zeon invents a gigantic human-shaped weapon called the Mobile Suit (MS) it wasn't till the V Project's goal was to get the Gundam (The Federation's first prototype MS) mass produced. I'll begin with rough comparisons between Master Chief and Gundam Then here's Gundam Mass Produced (GM) and Halo 3 Recon Spec Recon Side Story: that takes place in the city of New Mombasa. The storyline takes place between the events of Halo 2 and 3 after the Covenant have already taken over Earth. You are an lone UNSC Orbital Drop Shock Trooper (ODST) who lands in the leveled city. The ODST doesn't have the same abilites or armor as Master Chief so you are more vulnerable to enemy attacks. On the other hand, you will receive guidance from an AI helper called the Superintendent. The Superintendent will offer guidance through New Mombasa which gives players a different approach to the game then what Cortana was for Master Chief. New Mombasa will not be the only location where you take the fight, but Bungie has said that the game will be concentrated in a specific area compared to the many different galactic locations found in the trilogy. Gundam Side Story (let me begin that there are 3 side stories perhaps even more considering the manga publications but the most relevant to in comparison to Halo is 0083 Stardust Memory for its Militaristic stance and story Gundam 0083 takes place after Gundam 0080, but before Z Gundam. Three years after the end of the One Year War between the Zeon and the Federation, a group called the Delaz Fleet is formed by the survivors of the Zeon army. Under the command of former Zeon Colonel Aiguille Delaz, the fleet's goal is to rebuild Zeon. Their ace pilot Major Anavel Gato steals the Gundam GP02, a nuclear equipped model in development by the Federation. Lieutenant Kou Uraki pilots the Gundam GP01, the only one left, in an attempt to stop Gato and recover the stolen Gundam before a new war begins. "Operation Stardust," as the Delaz Fleet's operation was known, would shake the foundation of the Earth Federation and prepare the way for the to the soon-to-be-infamous "Titans." afusion
uh .... what ? what was the point of that? to sum up: "this is a comparios to show that Halo isn't Gundam, wich everyone allready knew" .... I like to express myself no matter how awkward other people might think of it. Gundam is like Master Chief in some aspects. GMs look like Spartans. afusion
I'll also add that some of the situations and events in Halo by the acts of the Covenant and The Federation share similar tactics and strategies.
HawkMan
Gundam is like Master Chief in some aspects.GMs look like Spartans. Erm, no... Gundam is nothing like MC... and i al that text wch was basically short descriptions of the different storylines. there wasn't as much as a vague similarity. and the only thing that's similar is visor of the GM is slightly like the visor of the scout helmet, tht's the only similarity. and even that is somethign both shows got from earlier designs
Sethos
Take a closer look at the Master Chief picture again, then compare it to; I may have to create a thread on this epic find.
x9248
I can see the similarities physically (the big knee pads, big boots, even the weewee protector), if MC wasn't just armor but a mobile suit it would look just like a big green gundam. Of course they aren't going to look EXACTLY alike, there are tons of different mobile suit models.
