PricklyPoo
Alright, I've been having nothing but trouble for this, I'm a "noob" so please forgive me. :) First of all, my xorg.conf file is essentially blank, even when I manage to somehow get both monitors working it just has a "configured video device" and two "configured monitor devices" I am using the newest 8.12 ati drivers for my x1950 pro (not from the ubuntu repos) Umm, now when I try to open Catalyst Control Center to configure the monitors, it doesn't open, it just comes up with an error. But when it was working, it hardly changed anything in my xorg.conf, it still showed the same thing, and it didn't configure them properly, it wouldnt arrange them as one virtual resolution, but two seperate monitors...no matter what I did. So I used the built in "change resolution" menu in ubuntu, and that kind of set up my displays how I wanted. But it still showed my monitors and video devices in xorg as "default" Then when I try to play any games, the game don't even open any more, ut2004 opens, but it just closes quickly after. And the games won't lock to one screen, since I am running one giant virtual resolution... :/ What should I do? :( Edited December 13, 2008 by PricklyPoo
Lechio
Try to reconfigure the xserver: dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg After that done, read the readme file of ATI on how to edit your xorg.conf file.
