LTD
lol... Neomac! Not without forming a coalition with MDN, AppleInsider, and MacNN. ;)
shakey_snake
It seems that all I see today on Neowin is news about Apple. ... And as a side comment, I'd like to add that I would love to see more news about the (computer) hardware world on Neowin, instead of the usual PC vs Mac vs Linux and micro devices (cellphones) news. Thankyou. I think you're seeing the side-effects of a slow economy.
Aperture
Asking a website to disband a growing population of mac users is like asking Sony to stop producing TV's, or Microsoft to stop producing 360's. You go where the market is, and relish it. The more members here, the better. Why boycott something that ultimately has no affect on your browsing experience here? LTD
Asking a website to disband a growing population of mac users I don't think anyone's asking for or wanting that. Neowin loves us, and we love Neowin.

All I've seen is a bunch of window-lickers with their knickers in a twist. I presumed that's the course of action they were wanting :D
Argote
While I am a windows user at heart I don't mind seeing news about apple.

LTD
News is news, good or bad. Had you been writing about Apple pre-1998, there was plenty to complain about, plenty of negativity to be reported. It was almost comical. Even when Apple released the first version of OS X. It was a huge leap forward and the code base was great, but there were some glaring problems and a lot of frustration. In recent years Apple has been doing al lot of things right, and there is a lot of good news about them. With respect to the NVIDIA issue - bad batch or not, firmware/software issue or not, it was handled poorly by Apple and even more poorly by NVIDIA (why am I capitalizing NVIDIA, LOL?), but I laid the blame on Apple's doorstep then, and I do so now. I don't care about how ready or not third parties or driver producers are. If you're going to release something, it's your responsibility to make sure everyone is ready and has performed with the kind of excellence you have as well. And if there is a problem, it should be acknowledged quickly and dealt with, which Apple handled ok eventually, but not up to expectations. So by all means, post negative or positive news. There will be debates and even some complaints. But that's not your problem, after all.

Marshalus Veteran Posted December 18, 2008 Veteran Share Posted December 18, 2008 We are dedicated to providing coverage of all mainstream operating system platforms including Windows, Apple and Linux. We have never been 100% dedicated to Microsoft coverage, even though it does account for a big chunk of our news. We try and post what people want to read and if that's Apple news, we'll post that. If there is interesting Microsoft news, we do that. In general, we don't make any decisions to post or not post something because its related to a company or topic. Rob Veteran Posted December 18, 2008 Veteran Share Posted December 18, 2008 To the original poster: On the subject of the mini promo images that cycle, these are done randomly so any bias towards Apple that you see there is entirely coincidental. Alright, Ill take your word for it there. And all of you you have all answered my questions more than enough. I am sorry I raised hell with this thread, I was just looking at my homepage one day and wondered why more than half of it was covered with Apple, must've been just that time. Rob Veteran Posted December 19, 2008 Veteran Share Posted December 19, 2008 On a somewhat related note, you may have seen that we've introduced a new Promo system on the home page - this makes it super easy for our news staff to make new promo images right from our Admin interface without needing any graphics editor at all. LTD
LTD, when did you start using Macs? July 1994. Got a PowerPC 6100/60 that I loved and used for believe it or not, around eight years! I went through most of Apple's OS iterations, starting with System 7. Switched to Windows in May 2002 (built an AMD Palomino-core rig, updated later to Barton core), and used that with some Linux (Mandrake, PClinuxOS, Ubuntu, Damn Small) here and there until I went back to Mac in April 2006. I still use Windows at work, though. On a somewhat related note, you may have seen that we've introduced a new Promo system on the home page - this makes it super easy for our news staff to make new promo images right from our Admin interface without needing any graphics editor at all. Yes, very nice. I like these little touches.
