saiz66
Hi guys, GTA seems to be running slow at 1080p but runs smooth at 1080i. I am just wondering if this is normal or just my tv setup? But other games such as dead space runs perfect at 1080p.

kylejn
It shouldn't make any difference. GTA4 and all other 360 games, as I understand it, output at just a single resolution. The system then scales it up or down depending on your TV's resolution or display settings within the Dashboard. Are you sure it's actually slowing down and it's not your imagination? Yup, pretty sure. Because at 1080p it was unplayable when I was driving around in the car. At 1080i no slowness issues whatsoever, and I was driving really fast. Actually, there are native 1080p capable games for the 360, but most games go for more eye candy and stick to 720 instead of going for 1080. but GTA is rendered at 720 either way, and then scaled in the 360's scaler chip. what's your TV though ? Razorwing
works fine for me. full 1080p.
Kushan
There shouldn't be a difference between 1080p and 1080i in terms of speed, the 360 still has to render the whole scene when outputting at 1080i. 1080i exists as a way of saving bandwidth in HD broadcasts since it's literally half the data, but the 360 supports it purely because some older TVs only supported 1080i. saiz66
So you guys think it's my tv or my hdmi cable that could be the problem? I am sure my XBOX 360 is fine as this is the only game i am having trouble playing at 1080p.
