Questions Regarding PMs

Recommended Posts

I have a few questions regarding PMs:

  • Is there a way to mark PMs as unread. I could swear I've done it before but now I can't figure out how to do it.
  • Is there a way to e-mail a full-text copy of a PM to yourself?
  • I have a PM that got marked as forwarded even though I never actually forwarded it to anybody, rather I went into the forward screen to see if I could e-mail it to myself. Why is it showing up as forwarded?

I don't know about marking a PM as unread but the best way to save a PM is just to cut and paste it into Word or some other Office type program. You could cut/paste it into an email and then just send it to yourself.

1) Not as far as I am aware.

2) Copy + Paste

3) As soon as you click "Forward" the message is marked as forwarded - there's no other way of doing it.

So there's no way to e-mail a PM to yourself unless you archive everything?

Yes you can cut & paste it or Copy & Paste it into a Word or notebook file and then email it to yourself, or just save the Word File. If you use Firefox , there is an extension called ScrapBook which allows you to save a web page.

No

Seems kinda wack to me, but I think this is probably an IPB issue. I posted a thread there, I'll see what I hear.

You keep saying these things are 'issues'. They're not. They're just things you're thinking of that would make your life different (I can't say 'easier', because I also can't figure out why half of your 'issues' are issues at all).

That depends on what your definition of "issue" is, obviously mine's very different from yours. And in this case I wasn't using the word in the sense of a problem but rather in the sense that it's a topic for discussion. An issue doesn't have to be a problem per se.

Except it's not really a good topic for discussion, seeing as it's a minor inconvenience at worst ;)

Also, is this some kind of long running joke? It seems that you make a ton of posts about 'problems' that no one else finds inconvenient in the slightest

I have to disagree. This thread wasn't started as a suggestion but as a means to obtain answers to a few questions regarding the functionality of the messenger feature.
