saiz66
Hey guys, When I tried to sign up to a XBOX live gold account through xbox 360 it seemed to go well until I tried to sign in it gave me an error saying "Suspended Live Account Due To Payment". So through the XBOX I tried changing my payment options to check my credit card info. My credit card info seemed okay and when I tried to save it, it gave me a connection error. Then I tried going to live.xbox.com to change my credit card info but I got a "Server is Unavailable" page when trying to save the page. Anybody know what is going on? McSmiggins
Call them, not to sound blunt, but there's not much else you can do. Edit: Could have been a little more helpful sorry, have you got the number? If not where are you?
neoadorable
sounds like a glitch in the system and no fault of yours. give them a call to input the CC info manually, it should be OK.
Sethos
Heard that happen quite a few times, guess you let it run out on a card with insufficient funds or something along those lines? Then they have this weird habit of just locking you out, you need to give them a call.
Brad.
This happened to me when the card that was tied to my account expired. MS was a bitch and took ?5 every month for 1 month XBL (I was never told/shown that money would automatically be taken out of my bank until I bought a Gold XBL pre-paid code). I paid the funds using the billing microsoft website (billing.microsft.com?), you can find it on Xbox.com, sign in then under manage account I think. I paid the outstanding payment (?10) then I got my xbox live bac:p:p However, by reading the OP I believe that this is definitely a different issue and a glitch within MS itself, try visiting the website via a proxy. saiz66
Thanks a lot guys for the replies. I think I will call them after work. I wasn't sure if there was something I was doing wrong or it was an issue on their end.

saiz66
I was wondering, since I was having issues with the Gold account, how would I change it to a silver one? I don't seem to be able to find a way on live.xbox.com.

saiz66
Omg. My saiz66 gamertag is in limbo state. It is on xbox.com and it seems to be a valid gamertag but it isn't showing on the microsoft's agents end. I have spokent to about 5 agents and none of them can bring it up and think I am crazy. But 2 of them were clever enough to see it on xbox.com.. not sure why that would be different. They can't seem to fix it and now I have to create a new gamertag. Is there any way of transferring my points from my old gamertag to this new one? The new gamertag worked. I learned my lesson not to subscribe to a 12 month gold membership but use the 1 month free one.

shakey
As it states in the TOU when you put in your credit card, they will renew the on the anniversary date when it comes up. Since you failed to close the account in time, Xbox thought maybe you were just having a hard time with the payment, so they let it go for a couple of months, until they finally got sick of getting no money from you. So now, just call MS up, resolve the money that is owed, and you can get your account back. Seriously though, when have you ever put your credit card into something that is for monthly payments and not expected it to renew itself? Or do you just enter your CC into fields that ask for it and dont bother to read what its about and everything? I'd start being more aware of what I'm doing when it involves credit cards. Andrew Lyle Global Moderator Posted December 20, 2008 Global Moderator Share Posted December 20, 2008 << snip >> has nothing to do with out of date GOLD membership, his gametag is physically gone from the xbox360, and the agents side. His stuff still works on xbox.com

I know what I am doing with my credit card. I was trying to purchase a 12 month gold account with Microsoft. It had nothing to do with renewing itself. My gamertag doesn't seem to be showing up for Microsoft EVEN though it is on xbox.com. Use prepaid XBOX Live Gold Cards. I had a similar situation except my CC was canceled or expired. They still continued to charge me for 2 months, even though my CC was expired. I rarely used the service, and when I tried to switch back to Silver membership it still would not let me login until I paid for those 2 months that Microsoft couldn't collect from me because of my CC. I gave the support rep a piece of my mind, but she wouldn't waive those two months. My options were to create a new account (which would leave me without access to any of my saved games), or pay for the two months. Ever since then I refuse to enter any CC info into XBox Live <<period>>. I'll use a prepaid card next time (if there is a next time). Microsoft is training their service reps to be ******** now that they have pretty much won this console war.

The agents I have spoken with were really poor. They didn't understand that I had an issue with my gamer tag. As soon as they couldn't pull it up on their end 2 of them hung up on me while 2 other were trying their hardest to get rid of me (at least they had the decency not to hang up). I will buy a prepaid card from now on.

Sounds more like an issue that the prepaid time of Live has come to an end. You probably need to change the card details linked to his Gamertag or can you not buy a Live card online? mail
The credit card tied to my account ran out two months ago, and I was still playing Live Gold all that time. :p Then they suspended my account, so I called them and the guy downgraded my account to a silver, then just use a prepaid code.
