Turbonium
I have searched the forums but could not find anything. How can I use a custom image for the Vista orb that displays immediately before the login screen when you bootup the system?
zhangm Supervisor Posted December 23, 2008 Supervisor Share Posted December 23, 2008 I believe it is stored in authui.dll.
Turbonium
What is a good tool to modify .DLL files? Also: where are the PNG files stored? Apparently, the Vista orb is a set of 4 PNGs that are played in rapid succession for the animation effect (at least according to another site I read). Are the images stored in the DLL itself? zhangm Supervisor Posted December 23, 2008 Supervisor Share Posted December 23, 2008 I would have expected an AVI file or something. Anyway, crack it open with Resource Hacker if you have an x86 installation. For x64 users, you're pretty much screwed for a resource editor unless you want to cough up money. Turbonium
Nope! It's PNGs! I'm going to use Resource Tuner and tinker with this. Should be fun.

It would take too much space, and too easy to find, plus infect.
