Sethos
Hey, Think I just found the latest way to annoy fellow gamers on Live, it certainly annoyed me. I was playing some Call of Duty 4 when all of a sudden i got a private chat from a guy called "TooX tata0uine", may have played with the guy, maybe not. Though I kept receiving these chat invites, 10-20-30, first i just thought "Pathetic", though it just kept going, when we hit 50 mark i decided to try and block communications with the guy which did **** all except deleting all the invites from the inbox. Even tried joining the chat party just for the hell of it, though i just kept receiving these damn invites. Is this really the new harassment method used among the kids and retards on live or was i just particularly unlucky? Here's the guys GT: http://live.xbox.com/en-US/profile/profile...ooX%20tata0uine
DrunknMunky Veteran Posted December 27, 2008 Veteran Share Posted December 27, 2008 It's never happened to me before :blink I hope it doesn't take off though, sounds damn annoying
+Mystic MVC Posted December 27, 2008 MVC Share Posted December 27, 2008 Hmm that seems to really go behind what is necessary. If somebody is cheating/glitching in GOW2 I make sure to send the offending user a message along with cheating feedback.
Smashing Pumpkin
Never had that one, but I recently got back onto Gold and found it very annoying how in halo 3 when the other team captures the flag they drop it pick it up drop it pick it up dop it pick it up so that it says Flag Stolen, Flag Stolen, Flag Stolen, Flag Stolen. Unfortunately there is no real way of punishing these dickeds, negative feedback does nothing and does anythign actually happen if you report them properly. Smashing Pumpkin
It makes you "run faster" when you do that. Wow, so it serves a dual purpose, I guess this just shows how out of the loop I am! Thanks, at least I know they're not 100% trying to p*** me off when they do it :p

But anyway, I've had it too Sethos, I don't know how they do it either but I had it also when I was playing COD4, he sent me a message saying I was rubbish, and then I sent one back saying, "says the guy who has a minus spread" and after that for about 20 minutes straight he kept sending me chat invites. Vykranth
I got the private chat flood yesterday in CoD-WaW. Some welsh guy found out that he was playing the zombie horde mode with some French people and besides the private chat flood, we were served with the usual xenophobic insults once my clanmate and I left the chat party and he acted truly like a **** the entire game. Same ol', same ol'. There are ****** and good players online. Sometimes, you are lucky, sometimes you're not.
King Antonius
I hate live nowadays. If i aint playing with mates, i dont plug my headset in anymore. I remember 2/3 years ago, i could boot up my 360, log into live and just have a laugh with who ever i was playing with. I have some great friends from battlefield 2, and i have even met up with some guys from the early days of rainbow six vegas. Now though, you can hardly get a game without some one cheating/shouting/playing music/mutu=ing and un muting to make a static sound/using one of those voicebox things etc... The sad thing is, it is adults just as much as kids doing it now too.

ObiWanToby
WTF? Cheers. I hate the concept of Live. Free online gaming is a god given right to gamers. My Xbox 360 is now a wonderful media center extender. It works quite well for that. When I started playing Xbox, I had horrible luck. I had people "standbying" me at least twice a day. A few times people had hacked the game, but that was a bit rarer, but none the less too often for comfort. Then Gears of War Came out, matchmaking took forever. Just because you yourself have had bad experiences with Live doesn't mean that you can troll into the MS console forum and wish increasingly bad service for the 10 million plus people have Live. If the payment was such an issue, people wouldn't pay, but they do. And a lot of them such as myself, whilst experiencing some bad issues which would be apparent in any online network, enjoy their Live service. So just because you don't like Live doesn't give you the right to wish it's downfall upon the millions of people who enjoy using it including the many people in this subforum - where you obviously don't belong. That you are  XBL will not drop in popularity just because of a few problems like this. Instead we'll see MS make efforts to stop it and improve the service  As long as there is an Xbox, there will be XBL (Y) Oh and don't make out like nobody is an ******* on PC MP or cheating either. Its not true and we all know it.

DrunknMunky Veteran Posted December 30, 2008 Veteran Share Posted December 30, 2008 Again, you make it sound like MS are gonna do nothing about these idiots? Their efforts are continued to make the service better all the time. It's hardly at "the mercy" of MS. If you have an issue on XBL, report it and leave feedback. It will be dealt with, if you don't bother then really you don't have the grounds to stand on and no right to argue. You may as well shoot yourself in the foot :/ At least on XBL you have someone to do something about it. What can I really do against cheaters on the PC? Leave the server? Wow, that sure told them off! (N)

(yes i had to quote it 4 times :p) anyway reason i posted If the issue is they keep inviting you.....well what if you just accept their invitation? wouldn't that stop it? then later on you can delete them :p
DrunknMunky Veteran Posted December 30, 2008 Veteran Share Posted December 30, 2008 I've had 3hrs of sleep, give me a break :p My point still stands, I can do more to tackle cheaters on XBL than I can on PC/PSN. I'd rather be at "the mercy" of MS and making sure I have fun gaming than "the mercy" of a cheater and giving into them by leaving the server. Just last night I whooped some guy on CoD WaW even when he was using an under-map glitch. Once I finished, filed a report/feedback. Done :) (Y)

AbandonedTrolley
I hate the concept of Live. Free online gaming is a god given right to gamers. This made me laugh, since when is Free online gaming a god given right? Does that mean you hate the idea of subscription based games as well like WoW etc? The cost is there to maintain a service, be it in the software or the hardware servers. It comes at a price and Microsoft along with other companies decide to recoup some of that expense. Nothing wrong with that at all.
+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted January 2, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted January 2, 2009 This made me laugh, since when is Free online gaming a god given right? It comes at a price and Microsoft along with other companies decide to recoup some of that expense. Nothing wrong with that at all. It's far from a god given right, but MS have been the first to charge anyone to play every game online. MMO's have always been subscription based. You're paying MS anyway, not the developers - Made obvious with multiplatform games, as the devs games get played free on the PS3/Wii/PC, but you gotta have gold on the 360. As long as people want to pay it though, it's not going away. Makes a ton of money. The best anyone grumpy about it can hope for is reduced prices or added features through pressure from competitors. Or what I one day hope for, free online play for everyone with gold being a premium service offering other advantages. I just pay for 3 month spells as and when I want to, that way I can have a break or two in the year, instead of shelling out for the full 12 months. I think I just expired there, on the 27th of December :(
