The Canadian
I found "Windows Vista Service Pack 1 Service Configurations" while on another forum that I am a member of, just wonder if anyone knows about it...here is the URL: http://www.blackviper.com/WinVista/servicecfg.htm They also have configurations for other Windows OSes on the site as well. Scorbing
This is what the people here are going to tell you so I'm going to save them the trouble of typing: "Vista, unlike XP, does not improve performance by turning off services. Vista's services are turned on for a reason. Leave them alone or you risk having security issues."
LiqHead
Bull. I disable what I do not use (why do I need the Wireless Configuration Manager on when I have a desktop & I am using the on-board NIC?).
Hani
Turning off services does improve performance. BlackViper's configurations are pretty good!

The Canadian
This is what the people here are going to tell you so I'm going to save them the trouble of typing:"Vista, unlike XP, does not improve performance by turning off services. I always run a backup before trying anything realated to tweaking default settings on any Windows OS...so really, your point is moot.
Mercellus
The service configurations found on Black Viper's website are pretty accurate, I've used them both for Windows XP and Windows Vista and depending on how far you wish to scale your services back it does make quite a bit of difference; if it weren't for his "minimal" configuration for Windows XP I never would have gotten it to run smoothly on a Pentium II 333MHz CPU with 64MB of RAM.
