Treeview in Explorer

Recommended Posts

Vista is already like that if you open the explorer folder, like my Documents, click on Organize > Layout and select Navigation Pane, it will show it like that next to the folders.

The arrows appear when you roll over the pane.

I'm aware of that, but I don't want to browse the folders through that navigation panel because I usually have that panel hidden, and find it un-necessary.

Anyone else?

So you find the panel un-necessary yet your asking for a method to completely replicate it's functionality?

Hi Neowin,

I want to know if it possible to show folders in Explorer with little arrows beside them which you can click and show the contents of that folder, just like OS X's feature.

File%20Finder%20List%20View%203.jpg

I also came across this but I have no idea what to do with it:

Explorer Style Tree-View on Vista

Any guidance is appreciated!

No, there isn't and if you WANT something to look like a Mac then go buy a Mac.

a lot of explorer programs can have this type of view, but I dont think there is anyway to integrate it into window's explorer directly. If you want a good list of file explorer programs, I remember seeing a great post on the top 5 explorer apps on lifehacker.com. Just go there and search for "top 5 file explorer applications" or something like that.
