Twisted Chaz
I can't believe this. I get my Xbox back from Repairs for the 3rd time, after so much hassle, and then I buy a new Hard Drive hoping to get away from disc read errors and other such problems with the noise and the disc drive. So I phone up Technical Support, ask them all about the chances of this NEW HDD screwing up, they say it's fine. So I trust them, as you do. I mean they should know if anything could go wrong, they're the experts right. Well after about a week or two of me using this new HDD, my game freezes. So I'm thinking "here we go again, RROD". I restart my Xbox to find 1 flashing red light and a E79 Error Code. Seems like my new HDD is screwed, even though I have done nothing but copy the data from my old one. And to top it off, my 1year warranty finished in december. If I have to pay for this to be fixed I think I'm going to lose my rag! I just gave them money by buying this stinking thing, and now I have to pay for them to fix it. Great. I'm more ****ed about not having my saved game files. I'm on the last level of COD5 Veteran, and I really don't feel like going through it all over again.
Lindkvist
As the HDD is brand new, there should be a new one year warranty on the HDD.
FiB3R
"I buy a new Hard Drive hoping to get away from disc read errors and other such problems with the noise and the disc drive." What has the hard drive got to do with disc read errors, surly you'd want to replace the DVD drive?

Twisted Chaz
I just phoned up Customer Support, my "extended" warranty expired last month, and now I only have standard warranty. which basically covers jack, except for RROD. Anyway. I phone them up and ask for it to be repaired, explain that I have only had it back for about a month, and that it's a brand new xbox that they sent me. So the dude was very nice, and said that he'd get it repaired for free! And that it would be a speedy repair. The only thing I'm worried about is that he said he'd send a box to my address, but they don't do that in the UK, so now I'm worried that I'm gonna have to go through the ordeal I had last time, when I was constantly phoning them up about this box that doesn't exist. Oh, and I asked if I could renew my extended warranty, because chances are things are going to go wrong with it. And he told me that I can't renew it, and I'd have to pay. Which I think is a bit s**t, because I can see myself in 2months time ringing them about it having some fault. Great . . .

I already got Viva Pinata for free with the last cuffufal, and I'm happy with the fact I'm getting a free repair this time. However, if anything goes wrong with this poxy box, then I'm gonna get another wireless controller, or free gold account.
MightyJordan
Weird that they don't send you a box now. I got a box on my first time, but that was it. I had to re-use it for each time after (all three of them).
