Which Graphics Card to get?

Recommended Posts

I need some help because I can't decide!!

Right now I have a ATI Radeon X1950 Pro and I am looking for a pretty good upgrade.

I can't decide between the BFG Tech GeForce 9800 GT OC or the SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 4830. They both have 512mb ram.

I just really want one that would give me the biggest boost from the 1950 pro that i have right now.

I DO do some video editing from time to time so if it will enhance adobe premiere that's a bonus!

My computer right now is..

AMD Athlon 5000+ X2

3GB Memory

I think i have either a 400 or 500w power supply.

Thanks for your opinion!

Wow I hope you're not buying your computer components from that place.

I recommend the 4830 it is slightly cheaper, consumes less power and has the same performance of the 9800.

Between those two cards it pretty much a toss up, the 4830 performs a little better but the 9800GT can be found for much cheaper. For instance right now you can find the 9800GT for $115 after MIR at NCIX. Which is where you should be looking seeing as you are in Canada, just click on their sale banner and scroll down to video cards. They also have a pretty good forum for support to boot, I have been posting there for years.
