MrBear5587
Hey all. So my 360 just got the RROD (first 360 I've owned, will have had it 1 year in May). It's a Falcon chipset. Just turned it on, got the RROD, Power Brick LED green. Unit is well ventilated. Thing is, I turned it off, then back on, RROD again. Left it for a minute or so, then it came on okay. Repeated this a few times, and I'm getting the RROD intermittently. Now, I'm going to fill the form in on the website to send it in, only question is, with this appearing to be intermittant, surely when MS receive it and switch it on, and typically it doesn't RROD that time, they'll send it back to me saying it's working surely? Obviously I don't want this to happen as It'll RROD when I turn it on. Also if I get a new/refurb console, what happens to all the DLC I have that I've paid for with MS Points? Can I tie it to the new console? Cheers :(
+Mystic MVC Posted January 8, 2009 MVC Share Posted January 8, 2009 It sounds like it is in the failing stages so there is nothing wrong with sending it. Think about the amount of 360's they get sent back, most of the time they are hardly checked (other than for a warranty sticker).
MrBear5587
Yeah, thanks. I've filled in the website. Waiting for them to send me a label now.
Yggdrasilly
If you do end up getting a replacement console, they also send 'instructions' for all your DLC and such. All you really have to do is attach your HDD to the new console, and redownload the content. I don't think you have to delete it first, as all it has to download is the licenses for each game/content. Then you're set to go. I wish there was an easier way, though. Cause it can take a while if you have a lot of DLC.
