gene0915
I installed Windows 7 Beta 1 (64 bit) on my Asus P5Q (2, SATA drives on the Intel controller working in RAID 1) and when I went to install the Intel Matrix Storage Manager software from Intel's site, it said I have a newer version installed than what's on Intel's site. Cool, Windows 7 has the newer version BUT.... where/how can I load the Intel Matrix *CONSOLE*? Like what am I suppose to do if one of my drives dies? I thought the CONSOLE was needed to alert me to that and also to rebuild the array? I emailed Intel and waiting to hear back from them. In Vista, when I booted up, the little console icon in the system tray loaded up every time to let me know my RAID array was AOK. I want that piece of mind again in Windows 7. One time, Vista died on me and I had to do a hard reset. After Vista loaded, the Intel Matrix software popped up an alert that it detected a problem with the array and would verify everything. Seeing this happen, I think I really need that console loaded in Windows 7 and can't rely on this check during POST from the RAID BIOS. I couldn't find any beta stuff on Asus's site and it's irking me that I can't find any beta files from Intel's site to let me load the Matrix Storage Manager CONSOLE. Been a while since this was asked, but Intel has a console working with Windows 7 here

GusValentine
Look up your mobo under http://support.asus.com/ "Download" "Windows 7 64-bit" "Chipset" Intel? Matrix Storage Manager Driver V8.9.0.1014 for Windows 7/Windows 7 64bit. A bit late, but someone may still need this... This is only a driver for the SATA/RAID Hard Drive/optical drive controller.
