Sethos
Question unrelated to the patch, The PC version uses those PhysX features for tearable cloth etc. what about ATi users? The PhysX demos work just fine on an ATi card, so do 'we' get those features as well

ObiWanToby
Is mirror's edge even good. It seemed kinda lame, especially since there are some PhysX only features. This whole physics calculation thing is kind of lame.
Pupik
^^ Yeah, what StealMySoda said. Just install the PhysX drivers and the work will be done by your CPU.

So I was right in thinking that PhysX cards, or nVidia cards used to calculate the physics are simply just 'dedicated' to doing the calculations rather than your CPU doing them? RadishTM Veteran Posted January 15, 2009 Veteran Share Posted January 15, 2009 Maybe I've been under a rock, but is a PC demo of this out? :p Radish?

Well, that's exactly how Ageia were marketing their cards :D

happymonkey
Maybe I've been under a rock, but is a PC demo of this out:p:p The demo is console only - PS3 and XBOX360. There was meant to be a PC demo, but I think it was unofficially cancelled... Anyway, this game is another of those only playable if you have a XBOX360 controller for Windows. Using my Logitech RumblePad 2, the left axis and trigger buttons are both backwards and CANNOT be changed - even the XINPUT hack doesn't solve the issues. Waiting for next patch... Pupik
^ Why not just play the game with keyboard and mouse, which you have better controls with?
curme
I still don't know if I should get this for the PS3 or PC....

I couldn't get my 360 controller to work with Mirrors Edge. It wasn't detecting the controller for some reason :(
+Mystic MVC Posted January 17, 2009 MVC Share Posted January 17, 2009 I'm finding it very playable using a keyboard.
happymonkey
^ Why not just play the game with keyboard and mouse, which you have better controls with? ...because it's uncomfortable. Also, I like the IDEA of up button for jump, down button for crouch, etc. This game is too much of a console game, but I didn't get it for PS3 because I don't think it was worth the pricetag - PC version is cheaper. Also, the graphics are great on PC - even on medium settings it's a sharp looking game.

trag3dy
I agree...I just got this game off of steam yesterday. At first it ran like crap for some reason and I was regretting my purchase. I had to lower the settings and resolution. But today it's running perfect on maxed settings for some reason. It's such an intense game. I find myself trying to jump along with Faith, I haven't done that in a game in ages.
