+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted January 19, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted January 19, 2009 Retailer Amazon.com on Sun. price cut Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox Live Gold Card Subscription for the Xbox 360 to under $30 in a new sale.The Xbox Live 12-Month + 1 Gold Subscription Card held a sale price of $29.97 on Sun., down from an MSRP of $49.99. The discount is part of a new accesories sale that discounts up to 25 percent video game products. NPD Group Inc. this week reported strong sales of Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 in Dec. U.S. sales. The Xbox 360 sold 1.44 million units in Dec. to rank behind Nintendo Co.'s Wii at 2.15 million units in the same period. The 360 outsold Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 two-to-one in Dec. Microsoft in Sept. price cut all Xbox 360 hardware between $50 and $80 in a preemptive holiday strike. The Arcade SKU now sells for $199, the Pro at $299 and the Elite at $399. Microsoft in Jan. said that Xbox 360 sales have reached 28 million units worldwide. Also, the Xbox Live online service now holds 17 million members globally. Some of the US cards aren't but amazon doesn't explicitly state if theirs are or not... I'd love to get 13 months live for ?20 but we're still being ripped off:((.
