B+W to colour, can someone guide me...

Question

hi guys, theres something that I cant understand here..

ive seen people converting full B+W images to colourised images (the images arent just random colours either, the colours actually look real as if the image was colour to begin with, but i know for a fct the image is originally B+W)

an example of what i mean can be seen here..

B+W image

Image then in colour

can someone please explain what settings need to be used in PSP or whatever to achieve this

thanks!

yup he's right, but there are a lot of different ways to achieve something like that. you can select portions with lasso and then use the image adjust hue and saturation...for this method...zoom in far and take your time selecting with the Polygonal lasso tool...its pretty accurate. another way to do it is simply make a new layer, switch it to color mode..(in the layers box) and then just pick a color, and begin to paint it with a paintbrush.

heres one i did using some of the above methods
