ToneKnee
At $450, it's really worth it. If you're still hesitant, you could wait for the NC10-11PBK to come out. It comes with a higher capacity battery, extending the life to about 9.5 hours according to Samsung. It also has a larger trackpad and glossy screen, though I'm not too fond of the glossy screens, especially in daylight. It's a bummer that it isn't equipped with the new 1.66Ghz Intel Atom N280, considering that Asus is already on it. The 11PBK is only $50 more, so I couldn't tell you whether it's worth the upgrade or not. Do you know when it'll be released? I'm going to be buying the NC10 within the next 2 weeks, I'm not too fussed if it doesn't come out soon. It's not like I'll be needing a battery life more that 6 hours etc.
Barney T. Administrators Posted February 8, 2009 Administrators Share Posted February 8, 2009 One thing that I noted is that there is already a large community that is supporting Ubuntu on this netbook. Here are the links that I used: http://www.netbooknews.it/en/ubuntu-810-su-samsung-nc10/ http://www.netbooknews.it/en/ubuntu-su-nc10-parte-seconda/ http://help.ubuntu.com/community/NC10 And, with a hard drive of 160 GB, I added lots of apps to Windows XP without any sacrifice in speed. I too would say that it is well worth the price. (Y)

You might as well stick with the NC10. :)
arrrgh
Has anyone compared Asus EEE netbooks to NC10? The upcoming 1000HE seems much better deal than NC10 (and NC10SE). You lose some in the looks but get faster CPU and Wi-Fi 802.11n and of course massive battery lifespan. 1000HE is also almost $100 cheaper.. Randolph
$500 for a netbook? I can build a pretty decent desktop for that price. There IS a line for me that is drawn when it comes to prices and netbooks. I miss my Acer Aspire One 6 Cell Onyx I had. Bought it for $410 off Amazon too. (Y) I really like the NC10 but I am really liking the "HP Mini" line much more for some reason. :s
