Elmer BeFuddled
Could Someone please tell me where I need to look to change the font style / size / bold etc. for MY COMPUTER ; CONTROL PANEL etc. on the Win XP start panel ? I've changed the system defaults in the registry and messed with the properties dialog window with no joy. I'm assuming I need to look through (most probably) the msstyles file but, truth be known, i havent got a ****in clue what I'm supposed to be looking for !! The shell style I'm using at the moment (one of the Win7 lookalikes) crops the icons in half so I've set the icons to large which hides them behind the left hand panel, sadly the font I've got at the moment is too small for my old eyes !! As an alternative, does anybody know that if I removed the descriptions, would the icons "jump" back into view and where would I need to look to change these settings. Hoping someone can help me out TIA Elmer B. Fuddled
virgo89
It's kinda hard to understand but you just want to change the system wide fonts? Not sure why you're going through the registry for this. Just go into display properties>appearance>advanced and then in the 'Item' box just choose what you want to change the font for:
