Street_Spirit
On my desktop icons theres a white square box overlay outside my icons. Wondering if i can get rid of it. (Its not the arrow overlay btw i already got rid of that). Thanks
+jamesyfx Subscriber² Posted January 24, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted January 24, 2009 I think it's because your icon size is too large. The icons you're using don't support the larger sizes employed in Vista, so the best way to fix them is to decrease the size to a compatible one. Malskazz
Yes, you have to go into imageres.dll and icon 12 or something with a blank icon...

Malskazz
Okay try this.. 1. Get reshacker (http://delphi.icm.edu.pl/ftp/tools/ResHack.zip) 2. Open ImageRes.dll in Reshacker. 3. Go to Icon group and find folder 17. 4. Replace the icon inside 17 with this empty ico: www.malskaer.dk/empty.rar 5. Save the file... you might have to take ownership and **** i hope you know how to.. good luck

I found when I had this problem it was because two programs were removing shortcut arrow from desktop icons. So I corrected it by browsing the programs I own and checking if they have this function initiated, I have 6 and I found two changing icon appearance.
