Olemus
Give us a standalone client that actually does something other than be a glorified marketplace please Mr Pessner :)

The_Decryptor Veteran Posted January 28, 2009 Veteran Share Posted January 28, 2009 If he can make it not suck, then good. I don't like using it when I've got Steam sitting there, Steam's useful and not annoying.
George P Global Moderator Posted January 28, 2009 Global Moderator Share Posted January 28, 2009 Steams useful cuz of the game library it has behind it. If they get the features right and add games to GfWL then it'll take off.
The_Decryptor Veteran Posted January 28, 2009 Veteran Share Posted January 28, 2009 Well, when I installed GTA4 I had nothing but problems with GFWL. It never saved my login info, updated itself 3 times, then tried to update GTA4 3 times, in the end I just installed a workaround to stop it loading, GTA4's now faster and I don't have to put up with it. Andre S. Veteran Posted January 29, 2009 Veteran Share Posted January 29, 2009 Games for Windows isn't Games for Windows Live. Games for Windows is merely a set of certification standards, like widescreen support, an "Easy Install" option, support for Games Explorer, etc. Many games certified as "Games for Windows" are distributed through Steam. SweetRiverBaynes
Maybe Microsoft should just invest in Steam. Steam seems almost perfect to me.
