Dave Diller
I have been trying to log in to XBL all day today, but I haven't been able to. i haven't changed anything except for going to my mom and dads and using my 360 there - now when I try to use it I get an error message that says my connection settings aren't working, can't assign an IP, etc. I am using an Ethernet cord that I know works - I unplugged it from my desktop computer just to double check. My roommate can log on to XBL just fine. Any ideas?
Remysaus
try setting it up with a static IP within your router's range perhaps? I've had some trouble assigning an automatic IP on my PS3, it would just get 0.0.0.0 from the router, after i put in a static ip manually i connected straight away.. neoadorable
are you sure you don't have a password or something associated with the connection on your 360? or an ISP name? it will cause a connection issue if Live can't find them. otherwise, the IP is an issue. just try resetting all of your internet settings. Dave Diller
Sorry for the long delay - had been too busy. I have tried all of the above, still no dice.
neoadorable
call MS, or maybe it's the cable itself. otherwise i can't think of anything. if you tried a direct modem-to-console connection, and verified the password and user name etc weren't a problem, then you should be ok to go.
