Olemus
Hey Just bought left 4 dead off ebay and it arrived today, opened it up and its the NTSC-J version, however the game is region free. Do Microsoft actively ban people for playing imports? Also will I have any problems on live with connectiong to chinese/japanese people instead of my fellow PAL players ? Thanks In Advance

NiallG
Can you even play it? Most games are region locked. If the game works fine then nope you won't be banned, the game will also use your system locale so you shouldn't have any connection issues. neoadorable
no bans so long as the game works on your machine. however, it's worth checking before importing anything whether the game has multiple versions, not just regions. remember Army of Two? the EU version couldn't play with US, and vice versa. Some games are weird, like COD5. You can play with people across the pond and i've even had some people from Korea in the room. But mostly it finds local connections first, and sometimes won't find anything at all.
neoadorable
well, that's just the connection quality factor. the software looks for lowest ping matches first, so you usually end up playing with people in your physical vicinity. i guess there are exceptions though or the matchmaker just gets confused sometimes. Olemus
Thanks for all the replies people, very much apprieciated. Played it for a little while lastnight and enjoyed it thoroughly, also my live issues were unfounded as I played a bunch of games and only got UK players in them :) Thanks again :) LonelyCooler
