GameOverRob
He probably wants to chip it just like he wanted to hack his controller so that he can cheat in online games.
Groovedude
LoL... spec? hmmm a lil more specific. do you mean like what optical drive it has?
DrunknMunky Veteran Posted February 2, 2009 Veteran Share Posted February 2, 2009 (edited) I dunno if he just means the chipset, but the 60GB will either come with a Falcon or Jasper depending on when it was manufactured. Most likely with a Lite-on drive. You want a lot# of 0845 or later and team FDOU, CSON or ADUE. It'll include the wireless controller, headset, ethernet cable, component/composite cables and 1 month XBL Gold. Dom379
i dont want to chip it actually. so stop jumping to conclusions. i just want to know the full specs, cause i dont want to worry about the RRoD, as i'm currently keeping my xbox off the ground and situated in a well ventilated area, and im worried about it getting to hot and getting the RRoD. Dom yea like what optical drive it has, what chipset it has, what software it has etc stuff like that as i want to know everything about my xbox. is it advisable getting fans to keep it cool to stay away from the RRoD. Dom Also with it having the switch between tv and hd on the back does that mean i can switch it to HD and hav HD graphics on my tv? Sorry about al the question im just curios thats all :-)
DrunknMunky Veteran Posted February 2, 2009 Veteran Share Posted February 2, 2009 The HD switch is only for use with an HDTV. If you have an SDTV you need to switch it to TV or use the composite cables. I'm not entirely certain what version the dash will be, but I'd guess 74850C. Do you mean the Nyko coolers that you attach at the back of the 360? Personally I've heard nothing but bad stories about them and I've never needed one myself. Just make sure you keep it in a somewhat open space.
Dom379
its just I have a 37inch HDTV and was making sure that i need it on the HDTV for it to be HD quality, Gears 2 is amazing quality, so are most of my games on my TV. i dont have the blade dashboard, i got the update and have the newer one. Yea the nyko coolers, cuase i read that they use the power from your xbox and they also cusae it to over heat, but i saw that someone had created a power supply for the coolers which plugged into the mians and didnt user any extra power from the xbox to cool it down. my xbox is lifted of the floor on blocks and stands by itself at the side of my tv with nothign around it, is it better standing up or lying down??? DrunknMunky Veteran Posted February 2, 2009 Veteran Share Posted February 2, 2009 Ok make sure the switch is set to HD then :) The NXE is still called the dashboard. From what I remember, the first versions of the Nyko coolers used the 360 power supply, but later versions had their own and didn't piggyback the 360's. Like I said though, you don't need to use one (Y) There's no need to sit the 360 on blocks either, sounds very ghetto :p Just make sure it has room at the sides and back. I have mine laying flat personally, I don't think there has ever been proper "evidence" that having it standing causes game scratches, but some people believe its more likely to happen. Others just don't like it standing because it's easier/more likely to fall over.
Dom379
It is switched to HD i was just checking. so its not worth getting the coolers then? ive heard that disks get scratched easier standing up, i'll remember to keep it well ventilated for future reference (Y) cheers for the help

About your RRoD worries, ive had my xbox for almost a year now, and i wouldn't freat about it. I don't, i keep it on my desk, in a semi warm environment =] Garnett
