+Mystic MVC Posted February 3, 2009 MVC Share Posted February 3, 2009 Since I upgraded to Windows Live Messenger 2009, I no longer have the XBL tab on WLM that I used to check who was online. Now I want the next best way to check who is online from my desktop (in Vista). Is there any gadgets or do I have to download some kind of a program? Andrew Lyle Global Moderator Posted February 3, 2009 Global Moderator Share Posted February 3, 2009 I just bookmarked this: http://live.xbox.com/en-CA/profile/Friends.aspx might need to adjust the URL to your region. It's on xbox.com > View Friends (drop down menu at the top)
Sikh
What lyles said. www.xbox.com/live and it will automatically figure your region out.
Smashing Pumpkin
I disabled the sidebar because it slows down my PC. I use Bungie.net because it's quicker than Xbox Live to load.
Skulltrail
I use the XBLFriends app on my iTouch. Quick and easy.

+Mystic MVC Posted February 3, 2009 Author MVC Share Posted February 3, 2009 Something like this? Thanks, kind of what I thought of when I originally asked. Sadly though it can only display up to five. I guess I will just create a bookmark somewhere on my computer and set one of my keyboard's function keys to open up that bookmark. If anybody thinks of any other ideas, let me know. Thanks again!

Brad.
I just bookmarked this: http://live.xbox.com/en-CA/profile/Friends.aspx might need to adjust the URL to your region. It's on xbox.com > View Friends (drop down menu at the top) Same here. Works great :p
Smashing Pumpkin
It might be more convinient or quicker to load for people to use this bookmark http://www.bungie.net/Stats/LiveFriends.aspx If you have a Bungie Account of course, it doesn't look as nice but for those of us with slow connections, then again if your connection is slow, why do you want to know who's on xbox live, I don't know, nevermind... :p
Smashing Pumpkin
Blast from the past. I've only just thought, the above link in my previous post, if you're using Firefox, you can set it to open in toolbar. Plus I removed the name for the Bookmark so it's just a small convinient tidy logo.
+Mystic MVC Posted May 20, 2009 Author MVC Share Posted May 20, 2009 Cool, anyway to get that working if I don't use the bookmarks toolbar? :p
Smashing Pumpkin
What do you mean, the toolbar horizontal across the top, if so just bookmark it in the normal drop down bookmarks list. If the vertical sidebar, I'm not sure what you mean, just close it once you've checked and it doesn't have to be taking up screen real estate anyore, just keep clicking the bungie icon every now and again? :s :p
+Mystic MVC Posted May 20, 2009 Author MVC Share Posted May 20, 2009 Never mind, I'll keep my current system. I have it on my last hotkey for my Logitech keyboard so that it just pops up xbox.com/friends when I press it.
