burnouthell
Has anyone from the U.K got this from d2d? I had previously used d2d to purchase Warhammer Online and thought it a good service letting you download the file in firefox, without the need for a third party download manager, and as many times as you need to. Yesterday I saw that Burnout Paradise was available on d2d/uk for ?27.25 and it said, Download now play before in store release. So I purchased it and ever since on my account page it just says pre-ordered where the download link should be. I have an Open ticket with support as of 3.22am. I can still download War so I'm sure it's not a problem my end so I was wondering if anyone is experiencing the same?

Dom
Im playing this on a shy Laptop, 1.6ghz C2D, 3GB Ram and 8400gs, the default settings for my system are reaaaally nice, no slowdowns at all (i believe im in the low-mid settings, havent even bothered to play around with that), the game looks REALLY nice, even at that level, one of the best ports indeed. This is lame, I also just bought from D2D (after 9pm, no download restrictions now) and mine is also listed as pre-ordered! Let me know what reply they give you, I've also got a ticket open!:((

+Warwagon MVC Posted February 6, 2009 MVC Share Posted February 6, 2009 (edited) I guess I was expecting to much. I played it on my computer at 1920 by 1200 at 4x AA and everything set to Max Detail. The game play was very smooth. I'm just not impressed with the graphics. It all just looks eh. No were near the effect of the first burn out game on the xbox had on me. The first time I played burnout on the Xbox and I had a wreck, I think I yelled something along the lines of "OMFG that was so cool, then I started laughing uncontrollably" It was so awesome. The crashes in the PC version are no where near as cool. Edited February 6, 2009 by warwagon

rajputwarrior
pleased it for like 35 minutes, great game. I am a burnout "veteran" but the game mechanics have changed a lot so its kinda like a whole new game for me. rajputwarrior
its pretty cool how it saves your fastest times online for a certain section of the city online. I got the record on section 1 on the i-88 :D
+Mystic MVC Posted February 7, 2009 MVC Share Posted February 7, 2009 Kind of looking forward to this one. I played one on the 360 two years ago and played one version of this series on PSP. With the PC version, is it supposed to have some pretty impressive visuals or anything extra?
Dotdot
Just wish i could play it, 1st time using D2D and i aint impressed. You buy a game thats meant to be out before retailers, yet you cant play it until several days after its release, in fact I cant play it as I cant download it. burnouthell
I bought Crysis a long time ago through EA store which I cannot download anymore due to their stupid restrictions, that's the reason I began using d2d which, as of now, has proved to be a much better service than EA's. I haven't had my card charged yet but I know as soon as they feel like pulling their finger out and get the download working, they will. It really is no wonder PC users pirate, they have no DRM to mess about with, they can play the game before people who have payed for it and it's free. Edit : Just saw this at the bottom of d2d uk's Burnout Paradise info page : If you have any questions about your purchase of the Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box UK download, our support staff is always here to answer your questions! Yeah right :p Edited February 7, 2009 by burnouthell
burnouthell
Just a quick update on this, recieved an email to my support ticket claiming : We're currently awaiting further information regarding availability of Burnout Paradise UK, as soon as EA give the official go-ahead for digital release, we'll be providing the game to our customers. We do apologise for any delays arising as a result of this. The game has not been released digitally anywhere yet. I appreciate your patience in this matter and I apologise on behalf of EA and D2D for any inconvenience caused. WTF are they playing at?

rajputwarrior
that sucks for the people who cannot play the game. It's a lot of fun. Except i don't know why, but the game doesn't disable the screen saver... pretty annoying when the screen goes black in the middle of a game. I sent a reply back saying it was unacceptable, completely false advertising to say that and to say "Download Now" instead of pre order. They've taken my money as I foolishly paid via paypal.
