Dotdot
I know! I sent a reply back saying it was unacceptable, completely false advertising to say that and to say "Download Now" instead of pre order. They've taken my money as I foolishly paid via paypal. Well thats 24hrs and no reply from them or email to say whats going on. Disgusting tbh with you. Oh and I too have been billed and not recieved anything as I too used PP as my CC aint Visa/Maestro. 1st time D2D user, am badly badly dissapointed in there service. I got sick of waiting, I'd have thought it would have been available today! But nope, still pre-ordered. So I requested a refund, which they gave me. Methinks I will head down to HMV to get a copy, along with my student discount. Shows me about being impatient and wanting to save myself a trip to the shop huh!! hobsgrg
I'm glad I didn't buy this from D2D, I was very tempted to with the prospect of playing it early but in the end I ordered it online from Game which was slightly cheaper and I got the game in the post on Saturday, I thought waiting until Saturday was annoying but it doesn't seem bad now! Played it all weekend, I was impressed it ran at a rock solid 60 FPS at 1920x1200 all maxed out apart from SSMO which makes it all go weird and unplayable. A much better port than GTA IV
ObiWanToby
How good is this game. I love the burnout Demo I played on the Xbox. I prefer PC gaming, so this sounds like a Win/Win. Especially since the performance seems optimized for the PC.

However for some reason I much prefer PC gaming so that is my main reason for going for this (along with all the updates). Hoping it will run well on my system :D. It hiccups once in a while, but i think its background tasks making it do it.

chaos mage
I freakin love this game. I had tons of fun on the 360 version and although I haven't played it with the latest update, I found it a lot easier to do the burning routes. Of course, between variances in TVs monitors and computers, I suppose your mileage may vary. I haven't stopped playing since I bought it. I'd vote it 13/10 for sure ;)
Yusuf M. Veteran Posted February 12, 2009 Veteran Share Posted February 12, 2009 Great game. It runs without a hitch. EA should have used the RenderWare engine in Need for Speed: Undercover.
Sethos
No wonder it runs without a hitch, looks like a 2004 game, even on the PC :p

Sethos
It doesn't look that bad. In motion it looks okay but extremely low-res textures and huge polygons can be seen everywhere. It's not an impressive engine by any standard and I'd expect something like this to run smooth on most setup.
chaos mage
It looks ok not in motion as well, on my box. You sure your settings are right? Mind you I'm not saying it looks like the best game ever, but I haven't noticed any obvious ugliness. Of course, when you've got an entire city instead of a track, you do need to make some sacrifices.

Because honestly how often are you stopped in this game? I think it looks pretty good, not great though

_BeanZ_
Wish it had story like need for speed games. :( Why does a driving game need a story?
hobsgrg
Driving games don't need a story, if the driving action is good then trying to put a story line in just gets in the way and they just annoy me
iamwhoiam
You can already download the trial directly from Nvidia and purchase a key for it in game. http://nzone.com/object/nzone_burnoutparadise_downloads.html
DanManIt
What does it need to have a story for? Its a racing game
Victor Rambo
Its somewhat repetitive thats why I said about story. I was expecting a lot but its still one of the best racing game ever made. :p JFYI, Need For Speed UG2, MW, Carbon, Undercover.etc all have storylines. :p
chaos mage
It's just different. Different of course isn't always better, but the gameplay is so very solid which is one thing I never could say about any of the Need for Speed games...some of them were very good, of course, but never quite at the level I was hoping for. The Burnout team has yet to disappoint me (I started at Revenge) so whatever works. :)

By it's very nature driving games will be repetitive, the trick is to nail the handling and the feel so you enjoy each race even though you going around the same peices of tarmac all the time. Most Wanted was a great game but not because it had a storyline, it was because of the adrenaline of the cop chases which they really nailed
anamas101
I got it running on my pc. Nvidia graphics card 6200. It runs pretty good at low settings. Haha and it was designed for ps3 Not the prettiest to run but i can't complain, after having my pc for 3 years with little to no hardware upgrades
