getting a 360

Recommended Posts

Maybe you should watch some game videos online and see what games you like. This is a good place to find out what you like, but TRUST ME, Xbox360 is totally worth every penny, and has more than "a few" games.

Maybe even go to your local gamestop / ebgames whatever, and look at a few games. You won't be disappointed

Yes i am sure there are other games out for it that i would enjoy but the thing is most if not all of them will or already are out for PC.

I spend more time streaming media from my PC to my TV through my 360 than I do playing games on it - I have a PC for that. Plus, when there are good 360 exclusive titles out I can play them (BanjoKazooie, GTA4, Mass Effect when they were each released, not Halo 3 though - it's just bad :p).

Thing is with the PC these days and this is coming from an ex-hardcore PC player. How many are **** poor shoddy ports like GTA4? Not to mention the draconian DRM/Copy protection/Downloadable content problems inherited by said PC systems.

Steam sure is ace for L4D & CoD4 but, christ, Fallout 3's DLC is no go on the PC. :/

One real con to owning a 360: Updates can and will brick your system.

Thank you MS.

I've never had any update brick my system. I don't know why you brought that up. It's happened to some people, but no reports of bricking in NXE, that I know about.

The experience on Xbox Live is much different than a PC. I would never ever consider playing any online game on a PC over xbox360 :s

The truth is, if your a computer gamer for a long time, you will never really be able to go console.

Yes some people have, but I and others that come into my place of work agree that once you have used a keybaord and mouse and you go console and you kind of loose that "point" ability. You have the joystick which you have to get use to, and as you move the sensitivty the joystick still doesnt get touchier until you reach high up and when you do, its alittle too touchy and etc.

These are things ive heard. Me being a computer gamer, and having an xbox, im happy both ways but still prefer keyboard and mouse.

Althou sometime i like kicking back and lanning up with my friends on 360 or just gaming on 360 its up to you. I have 4 games for the xbox(that i bought) and plan on buying more. Now I did have more games but i trade the ones i dont need. I have Skate, Skate 2, Gears of War 2, Call of Duty: World at War. I will be getting Street Fighter 4, becuase computer release got pushed AND cant see myself playing that with a keyboard and mouse and arent going to buy a controller for it when I have a 360.

But anyway ultimately depends on you. Im satisfied I got a PC, I love gears and skate. Skate > Tony hawk and Gears is just a nice game. Love it.

If I didn't have an XBOX 360 already, I would definitely get a 360.

The XBOX 360 Arcade is cheap (hack yourself your own 120GB HDD). There are plenty of great games at low prices currently and plenty more to come.

One of the good things about being a latecomer is that you'll have a large choice of games at great prices.

The only complaint with the 360 is the breakdowns.

But I'm paying ?2 a month for a service agreement on mine. So whatever might get wrong with it should be covered.

Neither did I, until this last one which not only fixed HDMI audio issues but has bricked many consoles including my own; read the XBox Support Forums.

And yes, NXE did brick a few consoles as well.

IMO:

Go ahead, even though there's only two games that you are interested in, there's 10 times the number of people online than there is using the ps3

The other catch,

PS3 has amazing graphics over the 360, and the blue ray tech and wifi is amazing, if you look at 360, to get wireless the adapter is close to 100 bucks. (Not sure on the price there, thats what it is here at walmart)

The graphics are of equal value, depending on the game, each game can have a better performance record over the other. The comparison between the two doesn't really count anymore, cause some games like madden have different frame rates etc etc. It's an argument no one is going to win

Blu-ray does hold more data, but it doesn't prove anything once again. Games like Metal Gear Solid are having troubles porting over, but that's because it has full length videos that need to be compressed better.

And who said wi-fi is good for gaming? Sure you might get lucky with a solid connection, but when you lag a room out, or have moments where the wi-fi isn't reliable, your gonna either get kicked out of the room, or have to reconnect. Wired > wireless anyday

I bet many fail to mention their console is old.

It shouldnt matter how old a console is, a system update shouldnt make it RROD.

+1

To place blame on age versus MS forcing an HDMI update on non HDMI consoles is ludicrous.
