Xbox Lagging. Bad

Recommended Posts

Circumstances have forced me into using wireless, not only to connect my PC but my 360. Things have been ok but today Battlefield Bad Company has been awful. Soon as I connect, I'm lagging so badly I can barely move. Yet the useless icon in the game shows me as green, good ping (well I assume it means that).

Also, I tried to connect the 360 to my PC as a media extender. That took forever and seems to take ages to connect to my pc. When Media center on the 360 loads, everything is lagging. If I use the menu I can wait 5 seconds before my commands register, in fact loading media center gives me a black screen for about a minute.

I wish there was a proper way of testing the connection on the 360, the built in test is disconcertingly too vague for my liking.

The signal strength on the 360 shows full.

Here is my connection speed:

I think that is pretty much the correct way to test your connection. I have a wireless connection and have absolutely no problems. Do you think it could be your router?

It's possible. I have a Linksys one with DD-WRT firmware on it. I used to use Tomato but oddly my xbox couldnt find the router if I used that firmware. I've found myself setting the router alot more using this firmware but its the only one that works! :(

Look for a firmware update for your wireless device. If not, restart it. Try to do some manual IP configuration for both, the PC and the Xbox. Some wireless malfuction maybe?

But if you ask me, there is some interference going on in your place.
