(official)Race Pro - X360 thread

there 'is' a demo due, bth Atari aint flushed with cash atm, so im guessing people will gamble and buy the game expecting it to be a arcade racer (when it isnt) they wont like it, then it will sit in their game collection until they trade it in.

i wish for a demo before release but im not pinning my hopes on it

Looks decent, that's about all I can say. If the video is any indication, then the track and car selection looks pretty thin. The weather effects do add a nice touch however, and overall it looks decent.

May look for one of those copies in the used shelves.

Yeah, there isn't much in it. Only 13 tracks (and not even the Nurburgring), and the cars are about as diverse as they are in the Race PC games.

Uhh because the CCGT is a tour car?

F3000/BMW are also part of the FIA and career ladder, just like World Touring Car Championship..

Like I said, this is not the GT/Forza series.

They should have done another Test Drive Unlimited imo. They were onto a winning formula there. This looks like a cross between GRID and a crap racing simulator.

Test Drive Unlimited was awesome :) However, I don't think Race Pro will be that bad, I have Race 07 (and GTR Evolution, which is one of the expansions) which is the PC version and it's pretty awesome. There is a fair amount of detail too, in terms of what you can tweak on the cars. It's like GT/Forza/GRID, but more focused (on Touring Cars).

The sound is pretty awesome too, the noise of that Koenigsegg was just wow, I could of raced for hours on end (not caring if I was winning or not) just listening to the engine roar every time I put the (virtual) foot down :D

To further add to what I said, it (well the PC version at least) also offers a lot of options for controls as well. You got the usuals like clutch, gears, lights etc and you can even have engine start as well! (I actually managed to stall my car in the pits at the start of the qualifier, lol that was the last time I went completely hardcore!) I'm not sure how that will translate to the 360 though? I suspect it might get toned down simply because the 360 controller/steering wheel doesn't have enough buttons. Graphics aren't really that great though, they are enough (but it ain't no GT5p/Forza 2) and I'm sure the 360 version will be dolled up a bit as it's a bit dated now. Still what this game lacks in graphics it makes up for in gameplay/immersion/customizability(under the hood) (Y)
