djjasonsa
Hi Guys, I have been trying to see if it is possible to connect my wireless xbox 360 controller via the plug and play USB cable . However I have donwloaded the software from microsoft and installed. Problem is when my computer does not recognise the drivers & says not compatible. Anyone know where i can get the inf drivers if possible ?
DrunknMunky Veteran Posted February 13, 2009 Veteran Share Posted February 13, 2009 You can't use the Play & Charge cable. All it does is charges the battery. You need the Xbox 360 Crossfire adapter
GameOverRob
the play and charge only creates a physical connection for charging.
Smashing Pumpkin
erm, does he not mean that he has a usb controller, he said plug and play usb cable, not play and charge cable.
DrunknMunky Veteran Posted February 13, 2009 Veteran Share Posted February 13, 2009 He said the controller is wireless, and there is no such controller called "Plug & play".
HawkMan
yup, he needs the wireless dongle. wich seems strangely hard to find nowadays, mine broke and can't find any stores that have them in stock... :(
HeyRatFans
What they all said. Once you have the Crossfire adapter you can use the play & charge kit to make the controller automatically connect to your PC without having to press the sync buttons, just like you can by plugging it into your 360. Incredibly useful if you're really lazy like me.
The_Observer
can anyone tell how good this product works, i have been lookin at getting one, they are about 30.00$NZ, and looks like it could be handy. Does it work on any game or only some.
HawkMan
It works great, and for games that support it properly like Far Cry 2 and Prince of Persia it's even great, they actually use the controller button pictures of the 360 controller in the GUI to tell you what buttons to press and stuff, so no guessing at what is button 1 and 2 and all that :) for the actual sync, it works just like the 360, sync the controller, make and make sure the controller is on before launching the game and you're good to go. I usually have one controller always synced to my computer, along with the wireless headset which works great for skype and stuff as well.
