Gerowen
My job requires me to do a lot of travelling, and one game that I play obsessively is World of Warcraft. My old computer was just that, old, and it barely ran WoW. So I went to the store and picked out the best rig they had for gaming and it only ran me $800 (USD). I didn't want to spend a fortune on a new computer or on customizing one, but I wanted a decent rig to play my games and do some work and professional development type stuff on, so here's the specs on the new rig. 2.1 Ghz AMD Turion X2 64bit Proc (Dual Core) 4 GB DDR2 SDRAM 256 MB ATI Radeon 3100 Graphics 250 GB HDD 17" Screen w/ Full Size Keyboard (Native resolution 1440x900) OS: Windows Vista Home Premium x64 I've never been a big PC gamer, just certain ones (hence WoW) none of which were ever very taxing, but now that I have a system that seems to do halfway decent, I'd be interested in getting some more games to take on the road with me, but I'm not sure how I stack up against some of today's newer games. What I'm asking is for those of you who do a lot of PC gaming to just tell me what I can expect in regards to performance from this rig on some newer games. Could I play Oblivion? Fear? I bought 007 Quantum of Solace and it runs "Ok", the framerate is a little lower than I'd like, but it's playable, but that tells me that some of the games with higher-def graphics might put me on thin ice. Mannlich
Its a good laptop, but you'll definitely struggle with running games on their highest settings/native resolution.

Yeah I've found that out, but it's a million times better than my old one, and none of the games I have are "that" taxing on the system, looks like I'll have to leave most of my high-def gaming to the 360.
