anthony
So randomly today, I went several months with my Xbox on live with no problems, then magically tonight, a few minutes ago I tried to go on Live and got a nice message that it couldn't connect. Several test connections, router and modem reboots have left me with the same error: console is connected but can't contact live. I'm really confused, and really angry. I'm going to wait the night I guess before I get someone on the horn to yell at. I'm just prepped to be told multiple times by Comcast and/or Live, that it's a problem on my end when I have literally changed absolutely nothing. If anyone has had this problem what happened and how did you fix it?
ynnoj
Which error are you getting when you try and connect? Are you connecting wirelessly or via your PC?
SabaTime
You should also try the networking help tips Xbox displays for you. For example unplugging your cable modem (comcast) and router (Linksys or other) for about 5-6 mins and then turn them back on. Sometimes the xbox has difficulties getting it assigned an ip address and this could resolve it. If your problem still exists take a look in your network settings if your behind a router. gamerboy
Run the connection test on your xbox and see which error you are getting. If you get any error besides the xbox live test failing it is more than likely on your end believe it or not. If the xbox live test fails then they might be experiencing technical issues. anthony
It was a problem in Comcast's back end system and was fixed early this morning. You guys provided grade-A advice though, "restart your router" and "run network connection test" if only I hadn't said I had already tried those :p
Brad.
I'm getting it now, too. Can't connect to live :/ When I do a network scan to check xbox live it says it's a problem my end of the line. Reset router/Modem and still the same. Meh I'll try it later.
neoadorable
yeah anthony but likewise you didn't answer them whether you're connected directly or through a router, and if directly is it wireless? obviously a direct wired connection is the safest way to go.
