Red Xbox 360 Mentioned Officially By Microsoft

reelite.jpg

Whoops! In an official Halo Wars email sent to retailers and games press in New Zealand today, Microsoft make official mention of the rumoured red Xbox 360 Elite console.

The email was to announce a deal whereby anyone buying a 360 console

in NZ would, for a limited time, receive a free copy of Halo Wars. Good

deal! Except, there's a catch. You'll get the game if you buy an

Arcade, Pro or Elite model, but "this Halo Wars offer does not apply to

the Red Xbox 360 Elite console which is exclusive to EB games."

Cat's out of the bag now, Microsoft. May as well release those official pics, satisfy our curiosity as to the machine's hue.

I think the 360 should come in the original cream colour and black. Just those, colour changes like this should just be on the controllers... imo. tacky keep releasing random colours.

Edit: cream/white... dont really care, you get my point.

... Eugh :x
ugliest xbox officially made :x
I hope that's a joke as that is fugly as hell.

You guys did realize that's not an actual picture of the console, and the actual "red" color is still unknown, outside of the fact it's red :) right ?

Yeah and we know what red looks like in real-life as well, thank you very much. A matte Xbox red won't make it prettier.

What about glossy Ferrari red :)

Even worse :p

Works for acer :p

Honestly though, I do't think extra colors are aimed at "grown ups" who use their 60 in the living room next to the black or silver Receiver, possibly amp and HTPC.

But rather at kids or pubescent teens living in a room at their parents or in a dorm room thinking they're all that while they sit in a office chair playing their console on a tiny computer monitor :p

On the bright if you get a red ring of death it'll match the colour scheme nicely.

It only took 5 posts for this joke to be made :p

Surely this could be the official games console of the labour party in 2009?

Well the red controller looks nice, I own two of them, so I'm sure it would look alright. I'd never get one while there's a black option (I love my electronics in black), but if it were only red vs. white I would probably go with the red one.

Is there something wrong with sitting in an office chair playing my console games on a small (relatively, compared to today's HDTV's) computer monitor at my parents' house?

And for the record, I'd never buy a console (or other A/V device, for that matter) that's not black, white, or silver unless the only option is some funky color.
