chinaboy1021
I used Tuneup utility to change my icon size to 256...the icons look great on the desktop but when i click start menu, the icons are HUGE also. and also in some other windows such as "Open file", the icons are HUGE... Basically I wanted everythign to stay normal size but I want desktop Icons to be 256 without using a dock.... any ideas?
Trong
Right click on your desktop. Go to properties. Go to the Appearence tab. Go to Advanced. Choose Icon size in the drop down box and change that to 256. You might need to change the vertical and horizontal spacing too.
fhpuqrgrpgvirzhpujbj
I think that effects quick launch icons, Trong.
frease
I have been searching for a solution for that too. But so far, I only read that the only way is to use a desktop widget.

Colin-uk Veteran Posted February 22, 2009 Veteran Share Posted February 22, 2009 there is no built in way to do this in XP, you either need to use a third party program, or just set your icons in explorer to tile view, then they'll be normal size. will probly have to change your start menu to the classic small one too, as the icons there pick up the size as well.
