Raptr.com

So I saw a few posts on Twitter about this site, Raptr.com, and I decided to check it out. It's pretty cool.

You can add your identities from XBL, PSN, Wii, Steam, Guitar Hero, and Spore, as well as individual characters from Warhammer and World of Warcraft. You can change exactly what is posted, but it can update when you start playing a game, get an achievement, or hit a new level. It's sort of like Twitter where it allows you to see the feeds of everybody or just friends, and manually update with your own status messages.

You can also have it automatically update your Twitter, Facebook, FriendFeed, Ping.FM, and Plurk accounts as well.

Just thought I'd share with everybody.

I think that this is another one of those ideas that will soon be mainstream. :) It looks pretty good, might have to register and see if it works as well as intended. Be my friend Giga? :(

Definitely, just add me :)

Added. (Y)

I love registering on sites with potential early on, then I get the username I want. :ninja: I'll have to sort it all out tomorrow, pretty sure Pokemon will be my theme forever though.

I'm not sure if it's just me, but I'm having a little trouble with the client loading. I think it might have something to do with Adobe AIR.

I got this when I installed a game the other day.. I do not remember what game it was now, but it popped up and asked me if I wanted to install it..

Will have to check it out when I get home today.

btw does this auto update your information from Wii? Or do you have to manually add achievements from it? I know the gamertag sites don't update Wii information, unlike the xbox live information which is stored online

I really want a site which is easy to setup updates with Twitter, and I was hoping Raptr would finally do that, but its not :( Well at least from initial impressions its not.

The site design is way over complicated and broken.

Hopefully it gets better.

The themes are way too graphically intensive, and there's so many scripts even getting a link to mouseover can be difficult for me. The server can be quite slow at times as well which doesn't help. Obviously it's a beta, but there's a lot of work to be done to get it up to scratch.

Even so, I've added everyone who has posted their profile here, in the hope that things do improve and we can get some good use out of it.

Does the interface require Air? I don't want it on my computer since they've been shoveling it.

EDIT: Nope... no raptr for me.

You don't need the client to use the site. I don't want a client on my computer and it's working great without it.

Does it only use the client to determine what you're currently playing? I don't mind using just the site.

I installed the Mac client and it was pretty useless. It took five minutes to scan my machine for games (haha, on a Mac) and all it found was Chess. Apart from that you can see your online friends and play some flash games right in the window, and that's about it. Kinda pointless really.
