Youri
Please answer this post. Recently, I have bought Splinter Cell Double Agent for the PC. Once it downloaded, it said i needed DirectX 9.0c or higher and since i have Vista, i have DirectX 10. It still said, that my system had unsatisfactory hardware to run the game. Other than that, everything was OK. When I started playing the first mission (underwater), everything went smoothly until i came to the surface. The game start lagging in slowmotion. When i lowered the graphics and came back to the mission loading screen, it crashed to my desktop and said "SplinterCell4.exe has stopped working", occasionally with a window saying runtime error. When i patched the game, for a small amount of time, the game wouldn't startup and the "SplinterCell4.exe has stopped working". It just came back to normal. im still going the slow motion problems and the last time i restarted the mission, it was still loading after at least ten minutes (I eventually closed the game when it was STILL loading). The game requirements will be posted below along with my computer info. I have a two questions... 1. First thing, even if it says Windows XP only (see below), can the game still play on Vista? 2. Is my directX 10.0 the problem, or is it my computer? Its pretty recent. I have plenty of other games on my computer and they work fine. Some recent (CoD4 which plays with no lag but with minimum graphics) and some old. Please, if you know how to solve my problem, please post the solution. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here are the game requirements: Supported OS: Windows? XP (only) Processor: 3 Ghz Pentium? 4 or AMD Athlon? 3000 (3.5 Ghz Pentium 4 or Athlon 3500 recommended). Game optimized for Dual-processor-enabled computers. Digital Live required for Dolby Digital audio. DirectX Version: 9.0c or higher Hard Drive Space: 8 GB Peripherals Supported: Mouse, keyboard Multiplay: Broadband connection with 128 kbps upstream or faster Here is my computers info (Its a laptop, if that info fact helps): Windows Vista Home Premium 198GB Free (Splinter Cell Double Agent Included) out of 296GB RAM: 3.0GB (2) Intel Core 2 Duo CPU Processor 2GHz If you request more information, post your reqNote: A user previously posted the posibility that i can run my CPU single core to maybe solve the problem. Youri
Wrong forum maybe? Oh, this the wrong forum section. Oops. But still, can anyone answer?
AllMac
I have it installed on Vista x64 and just works flawlessly. I have Pentium 4@3.56ghz, Nvidia8800GTS, 2gig ram. As you can see, my processor is kind of outdated, but it sill runs most of the stuff pretty decent.
TheRealDave
might be the graphics card? You come out of the water and the model starts to cast a shadow (killing the shader model). Whats the graphics card?
Youri
Ok... it was only laggy when i came out of the water and when i was looking at the ice covering the water. it stopped after that. Noe im at the super tanker, and the game is lagging again, but less seriously than before. oh the reason is my graphics card is Intel and it sucks for gaming, plus the game isnt really flaw free. No need to post... Unless to solve my occasional crashing problem.

Yusuf M. Veteran Posted February 26, 2009 Veteran Share Posted February 26, 2009 If it's an integrated GPU, then chances are it isn't supported.
StealMySoda
The OP and I had a quick discussion over PM and it is indeed an integrated Intel chip that he was using.
Youri
For some reason, everytime I try to use thermal vision, my game crashes :( . Its a very important vision, so can you post a solution?
deletedxyz
Using integrated graphics would cause you such a headache that you might even think of not even playing the game anymore. I suggest upgrading your graphics card or turning off all shadows, blur or any advanced graphics settings.
