WoW worth it?

Recommended Posts

I know lots of people play it and it is a great game but do you guys really think it is worth $15 for a new player? I play a different MMORPG that I am becoming dissatisfied with. It is a free mmo so I am kind of hesitant to pay for a new MMO.

If you have free time for hours, yes.

Follow a guide to leveling too, you level so fast, and you never are confused on what to do next.

I'm almost 72, seeing some really cool stuff and there's epic battles cool gear to earn.

I agree with a level guide. I use one now, supposedly the "best" horde one.

I am not hard core and I enjoy playing and doing quests but not so much the "omg I gotta figure it out on my own!"

I am having fun and I do it when I can, and do what it tells me lol...

I'm too scared to try the trial. It's the same reason why I won't try cocaine. I know I'll like it and I'll become heavily addicted. Good luck man, if you can make it out alive I salute you!

Wanna know what becomes highly addicting? One word, Auctioneer.

Start following that bad boy and the prices and find ways to make quick money and you are a happy twink in no time.

I think selling stuff at the auction is what I enjoy more than leveling.

Reminds me of my days playing Evercrack. I spent most of my time buying/selling but that was several years ago. I'm sure a lot has changed since then. I played that game religiously from the time it came out until 2003. Basically my life was Everquest and work... with very little in between. It was so hard to kick that habit but I hear WoW is far worse! (in a good way, of course!)

Definitely give the 10 day trial a shot. If you're interested, I'd be more than happy to do the refer a friend thing. Good for you and me...a win win situation :)

Give the trial a shot but do remember, its HIGHLY ADDICTIVE. You will loose your life. And if it gets worse you will loose your significant other and your job.

I know a few people that have, i even know of 2 parents, mom/dad who left there kids at home(age 6&9) for the Wraith Midnight Laucnh. They were gone from 10pm to 2am. Also, they took 1 week off of work to play a ****ING GAME. WOW.

Add one more person ya know :) I didn't leave kids at home, but I did go to the midnight launch @ Gamestop. Took only the next day off to play.

the cool thing is I got my wife into it,,and my kids are teenagers so they pretty much ignore us most of the time anyway..lol..not true, but we aren't so bad. Besides we could sit and watch tv, or hit the stupid bars like a lot of parents, or just sit at home right next to each other and quest together

I took a month off in mid-November/December: a week to play warcraft and sit around my house doing

absolutely nothing, about two weeks to sit on a beach in Cancun , and then another week to hit the

pubs in North England.

This spring I'll likely head to Scotland to play a few rounds of golf with my brother: a pointless vacation considering

we both own homes that are <2 minute walks from golf courses where we could play for free.

Why is it that my first week of vacation is so horrible, but the next three where I undoubtably did real harm to

my body (increased risk of skin cancer, risk of Hepatitis, eating all that fried british food, drinking, etc.) and to the

environment (international flights) would be considered not only acceptable but in some cases enviable?

@Evn Because the people who actually did more harm to the body than what you described while playing the game, makes up less than 1% of the population of WoW players, but yet everyone on any kind of forum knows multiple people who are like that.

WoW is easy to troll, so everyone does it.

I lost a lot of good friends to WoW. They started playing that game and turned into WoW addicts...similar to zombies. I never saw them again.

There is one solution to Wow addiction though.

Become a GM on your own server with no - one else on it.

Game goes waayyyyyyyy down hill then.

I play not on a regular basis now, but still do :)
