And still going strong.

US, March 2, 2009 - Bungie has announced that over one billion games of Halo 3 have now been played. The one billionth match was played at 6:36 PM PST last Saturday and lasted three minutes and 19 seconds. It was a four player match of the Infection game mode. Bungie noted that Halo 2 has not yet reached this milestone. That game sits at 798 million matches.

The total matchmaking playtime to date, not including custom or offline matches, sits at 2,023,153,340,764 seconds, or over 64,000 years  . That is a long time.

Gratz to Bungie and Microsoft for making a killer popular online FPS.

Yep took them just one generation to get a killer series out like that. Really have to give them a hand for that one.

Once I get my Halo Wars I will be more than happy to go back and start playing Halo 3 again. Well done Bungie and Microsoft!

Woah, that's insane. Halo Wars reignited my interest in Halo 3 mp again, unfortunately my gold account just expired and I have no more trialcards or money left :(
