MightyJordan
My mum is becoming really competitive about the UK Finals I'm in now! She's made me pre-order the game! :p Fair dos though, she's offered to pay ?15 of it, so I'm only paying?25e> ?20, thanks to GAME's newest voucher code:D :D If you want to know, the code lastminute09/b> You get a fiver off when you spend at least ?50. Some of you probably know how to exploit it to your advantage, so use the code and knock yourself out:D; :D

san.W10
NFS Shift: Demo comes after the release Last week the release of a demo of Need for Speed Shift was uncertain. Now we have good news for all who are waiting: EA listened to your demands and there will be a demo of NFS Shift available for Playstation 3, Xbox360 and PC. The bad news is, that the demo is coming at the end of September/start of October. (Well, better late than never :).)So if you want to try out the game before purchase, you have to be patient. The NFS Shift demo will most likely contain the two tracks London River and SPA Francorchamps. You can drive with four cars at the beginning: the Dodge Viper, Lotus, BMW M3 and Nissan R35. If you manage to collect all ten driver badges, you could unlock a Pagani Zonda and take it for a spin. http://www.nfsplanet.com/index2.php?lang=eng#5221 + Need For Speed SHIFT - illegal racing in Prague

Spookie
 hmmmm hmmmmmm ...... impressive 9.2/10 Maybe it's just me or does it feel like Forza's more exciting brother? Not that there's anything wrong with Forza, I just foresee if I want to grab a racer for a quick bash this would be it. So as you'd expect it still doesn't feel like a NFS game. Though it's a huge amount of publicity for a new studio who, frankly, deserve that attention now I've played this. :p I can't wait to get my hands on the faster cars, I'm already biting my lip going in to corners in a BMW M3! :s
sn00pie
Its not a bad game. Easily one of the best to come under the EA brand in years. Should be a fun game to keep yourself busy until GT5 and F3 arrive. I wish they gave us some sort of open-world mode to drive around in :(

sn00pie
It's already been done, it's called NFS Underground 2.Oh and it sucked :p yeah but not in a game that had these graphics, audio quality, and an overrall refinement in a NFS game. It blows my mind that I'm playing a NFS game lol
Spookie
I hate you DM :[ Got to tier 3 cars and... They all drive like they want to be in the next 2F2F: Tokyo Drift. Even a dabble of throttle and your arse end is hanging out. The Bugati. Oh the Bugati. It goes like a cruise missile but handles like a shopping trolley! I've had to slow to a crawl to make it through most corners else I'm sliding about like I'm on oil. Looks like I'm going to have to crank up the assistance to max if I want to continue to play on a pad. ARGH! solardog
So sounds like yet another Need for Speed failure :/ Dangit, I just pre-ordered it for PC. I cant believe I actually preordered a NFS game.
Unrealistic
It's already been done, it's called NFS Underground 2.Oh and it sucked :p Personally I'd much rather prefer this style of game than going back to closed circuit. We have too many of those racers already (and they kill NFS).
Spookie
So sounds like yet another Need for Speed failure :/ Eh it's not bad. It just requires a **** tonne of patience if you want to use the more powerful cars. In it's defense the physics are fantastic (even if drifting is about as fun as being kicked in the balls repeatedly). Laguna Seca really tries your patience with the corner which goes over the crest. I found my self not breaking hard enough and had the weight transfer off the wheels which sent me, almost, flying off the track.
burnsflipper
So sounds like yet another Need for Speed failure :/ I wouldn't call an average 9/10 a failure, according to the first reviews, I'm just glad they're returning a bit to the franchise roots, after all, nfs didn't born with underground, also, they're planning an open world style of game, it is called nfs world online, but so far they'll be testing it in asia first
t0mbi
Yeah this game looks like it will keep everyone entertained until Forza 3 is released..then we will probably never play Shift again :D

That renders reviews null and void.

Carbon was alright, even though it did mark the start of the downfall of the series. Undercover is the worst in the series. And if you wanna debate what is the "WORST PILE OF ****ING *** ever released in the racing genre", I'd rather vote for DiRT 2 than NFS Carbon. :p
rajputwarrior
why i don't understand is how companies have the balls to make a racing game, but not have split screen multiplayer. Apparently gamers don't have real life friends, they are all online...

DrunknMunky Veteran Posted September 12, 2009 Veteran Share Posted September 12, 2009 why i don't understand is how companies have the balls to make a racing game, but not have split screen multiplayer. Apparently gamers don't have real life friends, they are all online... I'm willing to bet it's because it's not technically feasible at the performance they want, rather than just blatantly leaving it out of the feature set. But I could be wrong, there's plenty of other games in the FPS category which can handle 4 player split screen. They might just be being lazy, simple as.
