Has anyone tried the PC version with a racing wheel? I've always played the previous NFS games with the keyboard.

I'll be trying it with a G25 in a while

I thought about getting a G25 wheel - but since good driving games come once in a while - I thought it was a waste of $250 -- (I think its the G25 that was about that much)

I havent played it yet because I just noticed that sitting at the title screen my top video card hit 68`C - so Im a little concerned. If I keep the side panel it stays below 58 - Im either gonna have to sell both of these as soon as the new stuff comes out - or go to watercooling again... ambient temp is warm though 76`F

Cool. Let me know how it "feels", haha.

I considered that until I looked at the price. If this game is really good with a racing wheel, I'll most likely buy the Logitech MOMO racing wheel. The G25 and G27 are ridiculously overpriced.

You have 2x GeForce GTX 275s in SLI right? 68?C seems reasonable for that video card. According to this, load temperatures are 85?C+. My Radeon HD 4870 hits 78?C easily with games. I don't think it's a cause for concern though.

well game refuses to load at all when G25 is plugged in, when the G25 is plugged in the game just hangs on the yellow loading bar at the start.

When its unplugged the game loads first time, everytime, this it turning out to be a non buy me for me at this rate, typical f'ing EA once again

I just googled a little on temps and found out the same thing as what youre saying -- hot, but well within norm

Yeah its 2 of em in SLI, there is only about 1/2" between the 2 cards -

I just decided in the last half hour as soon as the new stuff comes out Im gonna get rid of these - a shame since they are only about a month old or less...

G27 ? never heard of that ...hmm.....:p :p

Damn, that's a shame. You'd think they'd at least support one of the best racing wheels out there.

Silly me... I forgot to link to this. That's what I was referring to when I said "According to this," haha. The G27 is Logitech's latest racing wheel. Check it out here.

Anyway, I'm so tempted to buy this game but I don't want to waste my money. I guess I'll just wait around to read some more opinions.

right verdict is in and im keeping my money for various reasons

1) G25 doesnt work

2) frame rate at reconmended system settings is shockingly bad (and ive got a fairly decent rig)

3) cars handling with all assists off, is like driving a boat

over all im not happy i will give it a 5/10 and that being mild

EDIT: uninstalls never to play again

Honestly, the only game I can think of which allows you to cut/copy and paste vinyl designs is Forza. And Forza makes a big deal out of it as it was such a huge success in the first game, they've gone to huge legnths in the sequels to almost create a full blown editor for gamers. No other driving game comes close to it.

Jucied 2 allows cut/copy/paste.

It's definitely no Forza / GT replacement but it's an awesome time-killer until both those games are released (Y)

PC or Xbox 360?

I assume both are pretty much identical and not like EA sports franchises where the PC version is lame compared to console.

i get really crap fps with shift :( bit of a shocker actully if being honest i was hoping to max it out

What are your specs? Runs perfectly smooth here. All settings max. Its system requirements aren't very high either.

He's got an AMD dual core, last time he told me, so that might explain the lackluster performance for him. :p But seriously, the rest of his computer is pretty high-spec; it certainly blows the rest of my PC out of the water. I only own him in the CPU department, as I've got an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9500, and he's got an AMD PoS. :p

well PC version with all settings maxed out is smooth as glass - so others saying its bad -- get some new hardware.

I agree with all driving assist off, its like driving a boat - very touchy, and sloppy. It will take some getting used to.

I have a tri-boot system, (kubuntu, XP64, Win 7 x64) and in XP64 it locked-up on me at the start of the 1st race.

I then installed it in Win 7, and Kaspersky v6.0 (wkstation beta - free) thought it was bad and deleted the .exe, which I had to restore...

after that everything went great

Im gonna try it some more, when I 1st played GRID, it wasnt great - I had to get used to it- we will see

But as far as performance is concerned - it runs great, and looks great

Core i7 950

2x 275GTX SLI

6Gb RAM

Velociraptor boot

Spinpoint F1 1TB (not used in this game)
