Sethos
"drop it" as in removing the automatic renewing or insta-cancelling? You can stop the renewing by adding a gold-code, 48h trial should do it or 1/3/6/12 month cards or calling Microsoft. As for insta-cancel you'd have to wait for it to run out. azz0r_wugg
I rang up, took about 10 minutes and a bit of hoop jumping, but they canceled it just fine.
Neo003
I think you will be charged for this month, but you can call Xbox @ (800) 4MY-XBOX . It's a bit of work but you'll save a lot, you can't be that lazy to save a few buck. I would say you would be on the phone between 10 ~ 30 min max. Mathachew Veteran Posted March 11, 2009 Veteran Share Posted March 11, 2009 It's also possible to cancel auto renewal in your account settings on live.xbox.com. I know you're busy, but you can do it in less than the amount of time you spent posting about this (not intended to be anything negative, just pointing out how quick it can be done). Xerxes
"drop it" as in removing the automatic renewing or insta-cancelling?You can stop the renewing by adding a gold-code, 48h trial should do it or 1/3/6/12 month cards or calling Microsoft. As for insta-cancel you'd have to wait for it to run out. That doesn't work, I've tried. It's actually a trap that, soon as that trial ends the auto renew turns back on!! It's also possible to cancel auto renewal in your account settings on live.xbox.com. I know you're busy, but you can do it in less than the amount of time you spent posting about this (not intended to be anything negative, just pointing out how quick it can be done).Linky: https://live.xbox.com/en-US/accounts/MyAccount.aspx It didn't work for me, I contacted MS directly and asked them to turn it off and they promised me it was off. Come the end of my subscription it auto-renewed on me!! I've never used the credit card on my account, all my purchases have been prepaid cards (which MS also told me, using prepaid cards would disable auto-renew, bull@#$%! - only reason that card is even there is because it was required for sign up, Xbox 1 account migrated to 360). Call Xbox Support and get them to cancel your subscription. To just cancel the subscription you can do that on the MS billing website (I'm fairly sure). However, If you got a credit card on the account you MUST ring MS to remove it as you can't turn off auto-renew (despite MS saying you can) and they can bill a canceled/expired card (which is why I'll never ever add another credit card to my Live account ever again). Be warned it will take 30 days to remove the card and even then it will never be fully removed (basically they just disable it so they can't bill it). I'm currently in the process of getting a credit card off my Live account, it's been a long battle and once it's done I'll be happy. Xbox Live is a great service don't get me wrong and it's worth the money, I just have great dislike to how MS handles your credit card/billing, did you know before last year it wasn't even possible to remove your credit card? the only reason you can now is because of the surge of complains (possibly laws suits too) from angry parents (who used their credit cards to give Live to their child, to find it was perminently locked to their child's account). People may mock Sony's PSN, but at least they give you full control over your credit card and subscription, MS should take a page out of their book!
