Sure it has been released, just sold out at the moment. Can only digital download it.

Here is a review from a guild member of mine (I have no tried it yet).

" If you've never played UO, it will be quite different than what you're used to.

There are no classes or levels. If you want to use a sword, pick it up and swing it. The more you hit, the higher your skill with swords will raise. If you want to use magic, start casting your starter spells. The more you cast, the higher your magical ability will raise and you'll gain access to better spells (all of which you will need to practice individually to get better with them). If you like to craft, feel free.

You can tailor your character to do exactly what you like to do. You won't be restricted by the class you choose the first day.

The second you step into the world, you can group with your friends - no matter how much of a head start they've had. You won't hit quite as hard. You won't have quite as many hitpoints. But you will be able to contribute to any fight.

There are fights everywhere. You have very limited safety in the starter towns. You can be jumped anywhere else at any moment. It's very exciting.

Loot is not the end game. Equipment is an expendable resource. You will expend it often Smiley Even if you don't get killed and looted, your stuff will break. It's pretty easy to replace and does not grant an insurmountable advantage. It's better to have armor and a decent weapon, but not at all required.

It is very hard to solo. There are not hundreds of mobs littering the countryside. They are clumped in specific camps. They work well together, and hit hard. If you do manage to find some mobs you can solo, there is a great chance that someone will watch you kill them for a while, then kill you and take the stuff you looted.

Politics are important. We are allied with about a dozen guilds and at war with just as many. We are constantly called on to help defend an ally's town or to attack an enemy's. Later this week, we hope to siege a city and claim it as our own (we currently have a small hamlet). Our corner of the world is very active.

The world is large, you are small - and slow. The first thing you will notice when you log in is how slowly you move compared to other recent games. You get used to it.

There is always something to do. The guild always needs resources that you gather, you always need your own resources, an ally may have someone attacking their town, we may be attacking another town, there are mobs to kill, guidmates to spar with, skills to work on, stats to raise, lands to explore, etc.

The early complaints about the game were valid. The world was laggy, mobs were bugged, it took HOURS to log into the game. Most of the big issues have been resolved already. I expect them to start selling the game again next week. "

I predict a failure.

Who the hell wants to play a game that can only be played with groups ? What if you can't find one ? You're forced to ?

You're not FORCED into groups.. and it's already doing better than they've ever expected.

I don't know about you, but if it's so hard to find mobs that you can solo, I'm forced to group with people in order to kill them.

Yeah and I guess having really low expectations for the game makes you think "Wow this is so much better than I thought".

We'll see, though, I take it you like the game and think it will succeed, we'll see.
