why is your cd rom not silver like mine?

Its an Xbox 360 Arcade (Jasper with BenQ for those who care), with my old HDD attached and soon my old shiney dvd tray cover :)

RROD at first, removed the x-clamps and installed bolts & springs. That fixed that problem, then I had E75 (I think?) so fixed the network port. It all worked! then it died...The flash chip on my dvd drive is screwed.

I can replace the DVD drive in the old X360 still, its just a question of whether another problem lies waiting or if that will finally fix it. Still trying to decide if I should buy one..

welcome back, although you never noticed i've been gone for over a month!

and in keeping with fair practice, i demand to know the purpose of this thread. after all, if one can't start a thread about being gone, why can another start a thread about coming back (written while highly self-righteous and indignant).

I thought this topic was from Spartan_X.

I was about to bring out the popcorn :(

Ahhh anyway the RROD, I'll probably get mine one day. The other week my 360 just shut itself off mid game, I just thought when I turn this back on that's me. But luckily not. It really has to happen but, I need an excuse to replace my Halo 360.

To be fair I don't think my 360 RRoD over heat issues. I took the x-clamps off while I was inside it to make sure. The dvd drive was the culprit (because of my own doing as well mind!).

Motherboard codename, Jasper being the latest with 65nm GPU die size and DVD-Drive manufacture.

Yeah I know what a Jasper is, I purposely bought one, I just thought that they all came with a LiteOn drive (Y)
