I think they expect you to filter and label everything... but I have like 10k+ emails and really I never used the labels. edit: So I've just discovered that you can go back and create filters and make them apply labels, mark as read, archive, etc. incoming messages. For instance, all of my RedHotPawn chess e-mails will be marked with the label "Chess" and auto-marked as read and throw to the inbox because I am always on the site and don't need the auto-mailed messages.
