Subject Delta
Just a brief question as I am new to this site... I noticed when I went and looked at my own profile that it says I have made 2 posts (this is my first on the actual forums), I also made a comment on one of the news articles. Anyway the question is simple, do comments made on news articles actually count towards post count, or is that just a glitch? Although I am familiar with IPB as I have worked on it before, I have always worked with MKPortal so I have no knowledge how Neowin's custom thingy works. DirtyLarry Veteran Posted March 26, 2009 Veteran Share Posted March 26, 2009 Good question. I have no clue, but I would guess yes. Reason I am guessing yes is if you look under your name, you can view your posts, and there is indeed only the one that is showing. Also, I just went ahead and replied in a news story to triple check, and yep, my post count went up by 1. I truly never knew this. EDIT - And I was already beaten to the answer because I had to test it.
Subject Delta
Don't you guys discuss these things internally before they get implemented? :p
DanManIt
I actually had no idea that news comments counted on our post count as well
DaveLegg Developer Posted March 26, 2009 Developer Share Posted March 26, 2009 Don't you guys discuss these things internally before they get implemented? :p Sometimes, occasionally it's just within the Dev group, sometimes its Devs, Supers and Admins, sometimes it's everyone. This was written in a LONG time ago though, it's not surprising that some people don't know it.
Fred Derf Veteran Posted March 26, 2009 Veteran Share Posted March 26, 2009 Don't you guys discuss these things internally before they get implemented? :p It was probably discussed 5+ years ago. Now it is either taken for granted or unknown depending on which staff members you talk to (and how long in the tooth they are).
