Aiseesoft, the software that will sort out all problems in your life

Recommended Posts

Can Neowin complain to the company? The spam posts from them are increasing. Not only are they now daily, but they are also being posted minutes behind each other.

I was going to email the company from my Neowin email account, but havent yet...

Im guessing Marshal would be the one to email them?

I put the domain in the spam filter, but you guys have seriously got to calm down. This is literally the first time I've seen one and I had to go looking for it in the trash after I saw this thread. That means that the reports we get from you guys are working, they aren't spending that long in the wild and we are dealing with them as we get them. If it happens more at a late time in the world, there will certainly be less staff available to deal with them, but we'll get to it. We hired 2 guys for that purpose alone.

If it was mindless spam, that would be fine, but its the same site continually posting the same spam to promote their software, which is really annoying.

And if they're using a bot to do it (which is more than likely) then there's little we can do other than try and deal with them as soon as we can. Like Joel says, we know it's frustrating - and we try to deal with spam as quickly as we can, but please Rich - take a chill pill. It is junk, it is spam, and it is easily ignored.

If we're able to spot a pattern amongst the members posting the spam, such as a common IP range, then we can block those. But as Joel said - it took me a while to find one of these in the trash too - unless I'm missing something.

Lol. Alright mate, i understand what your saying. If there is no common connector such as IP range etc, then it is hard, i know that.

I am just frustrated that its the same company each time is all, nothing more.

hi rich,

Please accept my apologize firstly. I have checked, it was sent by a new staff. We will not send it in future.

Thank you for your reminding.

Thanks so much, Rich. I really appreciate it.

I'm seeing their spam eeeeeeeeverywhere. It makes me think << spam >> is pretty vile. :(

When Joel added them to the spam list it would have pretty much solved the problem. There would be little point in them posting new ads if the company name gets instantly and automatically removed and the links back to their site get instantly and automatically b0rked.

Possibly, if they are using the same domain.

On our forums, they use gmail accounts. Can't exactly block that.

At least we're not alone here... Hopefully they will fulfil my request to bugger off. :D

Thanks for the good read, if only this topic would surface on google as the #1 result for "<< spam >> forum spam".

edit: lol, now i can't even use the word...

Wow... you seem to be getting LOTS of spam on your forum :s. Poor moderation?

On the contrary, that folder is just a repository for all the spam we get. In fact, moderation was excellent over the past year. Most spam that was posted on the forum was sent to the "dustbin" within an hour of its creation.
