recommend me a game

Recommended Posts

So.... i am just about to take the plunge and by a 360. I've had one in the past but it ended up getting sold. I love brilliant games, games that give me a great entertainment experience and can easily suck me in. The games that have been able to do that for me have been goldeneye and the 2 releases of gears of war (and to lesser extent the halo series). Can anyone recommend me a great game that is going to be a great single player with brilliant story and gameplay? does such a game exists outside of GOW and the COD series of games? Dont just think shooters and action think amazing entertainment!

Thanks,

Matt

I think you answered your own question. GOW and COD are the only games I keep going back to consistantly after Ive had enough of whatever Ive been playing.

GTA IV is a good shout though. Especially if youve got some buddies you can go on free roam with. I find that pretty funny.

Not another one of these threads :p

Back on topic, it depends on what kind of games you like :) For me Mass Effect and Bioshock are the games I found myself playing a couple of times over. And for a good party game Soul Calibur 4 seems to grab everyone's attention at parties I attend to.

Orange box. Hands down the best experience for me.

Bioshock + Orange Box

other note worthy titles imho are Fallout 3 and Battlefield Bad Company. Mass Effect may be worth a shot too, especially now that they are teasing the sequal. Fallout 3 is alot of light hearted fun in my books but not overly long and I've had a good deal of enjoyment playing Project Gothem 4 and thats taking into account I don't typically go for racing games.

I didn't play enough but Devil May Cry was always interesting to play along.

Recently some may say Resident Evil 5 too.

Bioshock

Mass Effect

Orange Box

Fallout 3

GTA IV

Fable 2

Assassin's Creed (cheap enough now)

Considering all but maybe Fallout 3 can be had for under $30 (or $20 in some cases, esp. if you count eBay), no excuse to not get all of them.

Thanks for all your recomendations. I have played through GTA4 on my last 360 so will probabley pick up mass effect and bioshock. I did get resident evil five with the bundle i got but played the first level and did nothing but die. I can see its going to take awhile to get used to zombie fragging.

BTW do you own a PC? If so some of those titles above may be preferably (for some, not all) played on a PC such as Bioshock, Fallout 3, Mass Effect or whatever.

If not all are still good console games. Mass Effect and Bioshock are both well worth your time. If your into co-opp gaming might I also recommend Left 4 Dead too, especially given there's a pretty sizable update coming out next month.
